RE: Vicente Gomez - The Mills Guitar... (in reply to dformell)

Vicente was my only other teacher after I studied with Mario Escudero. He was a very fine guitarist, classical as well as flamenco. He was also the warmest and most amiable man you could ever hope to meet, who was never without a great smile on his face. He composed and played background music for seven or eight films, and actually appeared on screen in one, a terrific film – "Blood and Sand," with Rita Hayworth and Tyrone Power. In that film there is a café scene, and Vicente plays on screen a short but really nice Granadinas. He cut numerous LPs, mostly for Decca, one of the best of which is "Rio Flamenco," with an excellent cantaor, Pepe Segundo. Highly recommended. Ramon
