Can't watch the video currently but I do P90x. X stretch and Yoga X are great for guitar and keeping your hands, forearms, shoulders, and neck limber and loose.

Could Vicente Amigo have avoided back surgery if he'd done those exercises?

I've been sympathetic to yoga ever since I inadvertently resolved my problems with plantar fasciitis through 4-6 months of mild stretching exercises.

It's a perhaps odd feature of this video however that he doesn't do any stretching exercises for the hands and individual fingers. I find that particularly helpful when I'm pushing myself on picado exercises.

24 hours ago i began the count down from 100 and woke up 3 hours later wondering where i was but glad my herniated disc was repaired. just got home 3 hours and struggling to type with laptop on my chest--keeping weight off incision--weight presses down. i recommend doing all you can to make sure you keep your back healthy--there is plenty out there that can injure your back so anything you can do is a plus. pretty amazing this disc operation compared to the one i had 33 years ago

Context: After a series of intense practice sessions and an evening of dance accompaniment (which I don't do regularly), I started experiencing some soreness in my right-hand, between the index finger and thumb.

These stretching exercises have been particularly effective in easing the tension and alleviating the soreness. FYI.
