I wonder if he just channeled you trough like the other billion people at the door or if there was at least a tiny littly bit of truth in that room... I think hes so used to groupies... we are just numbers for him. Therefore...I would be not interested in meeting him.
yes I know what you mean, and I felt like that when I met Juan Martin and took a picture with him, they wanted me out of the room asap that he DID NOT EVEN SHAKE MY HAND! because so many people were waiting to get his signature and he had a show in 5 minutes (2nd show after the 1st one)

Same here. It's their job to be nice to their fans, part of the work. I'm a big fan of Al di Meola and instead of going to get a signature, I just stood there watching him sign the CDs people just bought, some people were really exited... your the best... etc. and he was just there to sign and move them through. After 10, I was certain I did not want to go to him. Can't blame him, I'd be the same. His show and encore were amazing and very generous.

ohh I'm not so sure about that.
There was a lot of genuineness to Vicente Amigo & Rafael de Utrera last month when I met them. Very cool people, got to converse with them for like 10 minutes.
But we did catch them at the end as they were headin out, the groupy session was already over with -_-. Annnd Paco is more popular than Vicente... but who knows.

this is so awesome mate.. I would love to see meet him. if you were super rich, tell him that u want lessons from him..
Gerardo has lotsa disciplines, Manolo Sanlucar has Vicente and others in his class. who does Paco have? other than the self proclaimed barefooted guitarist/maker of the previous previous guitar rumbaking had. just wondering.

mhm... I say, better talking 10min than getting beaten up and robbed by groupies. haha
well, nearly the case with the lady who was guarding the door.. she had death on her face. but we quickly realized Vicente was headin out the OTHER door around the corner, and luckily got to run into em' :)

true..... but still a meeting with a MAESTRO like P.d.L makes you feell nice!
... what I would NEVER do, however, is to allow anyone, to put a BIG! signature on my guitars!!..... Luthier signature -on the label inside - has to be the only one! IMO :-) ciao, giambattista
