flamenco in P-town? making it up as he goes? i bet his $99 tape recorder broke before he could record his flamenco-ized judy garland, show tunes and the village people. now that would be some interesting flamenco.

Guys, please stop denigrating a "master flamenco guitarist." After all, when has any of you been called a "master musician in the genre of flamenco?" You're all just jealous!
RE: Who is (or was) Dennis Jones? (in reply to Paul Magnussen)
Find it hard to hate on him really. He just seems like a fairly average guy who picked up a bunch of different stuff from different genres and does his own thing. I think he's technically okay actually (as a non-flamenco player). But it's the press that calls him a "flamenco master", it does not look like he's going around calling himself that. I guess if you're working for the Backwater Town Daily, you'll be happy to get a story like this to spin that way.

first of all i should say i live in massachusetts and know of p-town and have been there once. a story about something other than what p-town is famous for would be news in itself.

"And in a bit of almost magic, as the storm abates, a sparrow joins in and sings what sounds to be an intentional counterpoint to Jones’ guitar work for several minutes"

When I was a kid we took a family trip to Cape Cod and ended up in p-town on Carnival Day. Now that was an interesting childhood experience...
