My favorite soundport is the inlayed flower that can be seen on many of my guitars. I charge a 200,.€ extra for that one. Some people dont want to pay that and some dont like the design (fair enough) Therefor I made a "normal" soundport for no extra charge. It was hole in the sides. It works perfectly well but it looks like a hole. So here you have my new hole soundport. I think the binding around it makes it a lot more elegant.

True! Anders........also if in my old damaged brain :-) the guitar has only one hole, I have to say that as in your rosettes, you are able to reach the beauty with simplicity, which is the most difficult goal in the ART.
Dennis, I would say that some 50 - 60% have soundports. Maybe a little bit more.
Doublek Please do a search here on the foro. We´ve had many discussions about soundports. IMHO it gives you a more direct input and a rounder sound overall, without loosing anything. My own guitars ALWAYS have soundports. I cant live without them anymore.
I been looking at it and,.... I think it is a hole
and I like that you say it works perfectly well, does this mean you have put in a hole that didn't work? At least it is a hand-made hole as oppose to them mass made factory holes that you see all over the place,, yuk....
I´ve just finished the building of the guitar, so here you have a picture of the soundport when French polished. More pictures of the guitar here: http://news-from-the-workshop.blogspot.com/
