Sheesh...WTF did people DO with their time before the Internet? I dont know...what did people do ?? instead of paying per month to see naked girls the had to pay with coins per minute ? ...engaged in orgies, went to DISCOTEQUES ? explored a whole range of sexually transmitted diseases, instead of buying cats as pets they had exotic animals like chimps as pets, went on safari trips, wore Hawaiian shirts, joined religious sects, took acid, went to concerts, instead of writing an email fer every stupid thought that came through their head they would call and bother their friends with it? instead of facebooking girls they liked they had to stalk them ? walked around dressed like pimps ?

Scuba diving: Over 1500 dives mainly in the tropical Pacific Richard, you look like someone I met few years ago on Kararu liveaboard diving in Raja ampat-indonesia. I have done over 500 dives mostli in Indonesian , maldives waters , but have not done any last year and this year since i have a baby son. Hmmm..I've spent time in Java and Bali, never went diving there--never been to the Maldives. I lived in the Marshall Islands for 18 1/2 years, plenty of diving there. Also Fiji, Palau, Kosrae, Pohnpei, Thailand... In my youth, we dove in caves in Central Texas and northeastern Mexico. Scares me to think about it now. RNJ

Back on topic: I like learning about everything in general--how things work--how systems work, etc. The more esoteric the better. I probably have a wider variety of tools than anyone here. I have air tools, automotive tools, a mig welder, an arc welder, several sets of cutting and welding torches, numerous saws--a table saw, a tile (wet) saw, etc.--a dozen drills at least and on and on. I have HVAC tools, my own brewing equipment; have made my own hydraulic lines for my Land Rover as well as some of the equipment to pressure bleed the lines. It's entertaining to figure out how to do these different tasks the first time. After that the thrill is usually gone. I can perform some of these jobs on a high enough level to make money doing it. I taught myself how to mig weld from some pamphlets and a VHS video that came with the welder and was offered a job at $28/hr after just three hours of practice. Pretty cool--and emotionally and financially rewarding as well. My learning interests are varied as well. A few years ago I completed training in clinical hypnosis and taught physicians, psychologists, social workers, etc., in trance induction and the neuropsychology of trance in an ASCH approved training program at a local university. Learning and understanding is really my first interest and passion. Lately I've been getting into modding electric guitars and a guy I met on CL paid me to wire five Strats for him. I'm in the process of gathering tools to work on frets on electric guitars. I have files I can modify for this purpose and plan on making a few radius blocks with a router.
