g-string / bridge

I just read a 116page (!) thesis on guitar tuning

One of the suggested solutions to the g-string problem was this bridge:

Have you ever come across something like that on a flamenco guitar?

On my old Raimundo 145, my luthier made this exact adjustment to the bridge to compensate for the G. The result was great intonation.

On my current guitar though, the G is fine without this adjustment. I am not sure it is 100% necessary, but the G is always problematic.

I hope conclusion of the thesis was that guitars are an imperfect system . LOL

Ed, its a common thing to final adjust sadles, especially the Gstring. It depends on the guitar and the string.

Yes, I know, but I haven't come across this particular type of bridge in flamencos yet (i.e. not just an individual correction).

I guess the preoccupation of classical guitarists with equal temperament and well-tempered tuning etc. arises from the vagaries of trying to be perfectly attuned to an orchestra. Flamenco guitarists usually only need to be in tune with a singer or other guitars.
So although I have seen compensating bridges like the lower one here on flamencos, I as yet, have not come across the upper two variations.

and, as far as compensation at the nut is concerned, I haven't ever seen these, not even on classical guitars:
