got the cd, reminded me alot of the cana roto style like jesus de rosario, david cerreduela and el viejin with bits and pieces of the jerez soniquete thrown in. i really enjoyed the album but would have preferred more diversity than 3 buleria. cracking album and a def recommendation to buy.

Ummm yeah but I think he calls that one soleá. lol.

I agree, not too much palo diversity there. Rockin' album nevertheless.

ok listened to the album the track "¿Y ahora qué" sounds and feels to have the compas and tempo of solea por buleria even though its down as a buleria. another typo to screw with flamencologo's heads

Dunno. Sounds like a bulería to me Maybe Diego just has a thing against soleares por bulería.

We discussed the solea vs solea por buleria vs bulerias por solea vs solea or buleria pa' escuchar, much in the past.

Basically, you guys at this point should not be so surprised that a guitarist or anyone from JEREZ is interpreting a lot of buleria. And again, the way they do SOLEARES in Jerez (meaning the singers from there and the guitarists that play for them) is usually fast and por medio, ever since the old days to the present.... in other words, what the rest of the flamenco world calls now "solea por buleria".

If you guys don't have it, look for the 3 disc compilation of 3 main families of cante in Jerez (Moneo, Zambo, de la Morena) accompanied by diego and his dad. ALL BULERIA!!!! except for the one a cappella bulerias por solea that they might just have called "Solea".

I will agree however that Diego's album is quite one dimentional in its sound. Everything has some aire of open tuning/rondeña except the last cut which is more traditional with his dad playing.
