Funny how people can hear things so differently.

That guy sounds completely sloppy, weak, and just generally lame to me.

I would post that as an example of what NOT to do. Really awful.

Gotta admit this video is less about soulful music and more about happy wiggly fingers, but we're talking about picado speed here. I think it's pretty damn hard to be able to play at that speed and still maintain that sort of precision.

The problem is, he's not maitaining any sort of precision.

Its not picado. But hes fast and has crazy hands synchronization. At 1:22 he plays apoyando and you can see or hear how much better that sounds, and maybe also understand why this video is not really impressive for flamenco players, regarding the picado technique.

Sometimes it amazes me how much I dislike music played on nylon string guitars if it's not flamenco, compared to how much I love and am obsessed by flamenco played on a nylon string guitar.

Here's a flamenco guitarist playing non flamenco. His flamenco picado, even though much slower than on the above video is in another league as far as how the music moves me.
