I feel sorry for Simon and the amount of work and hassle in migrating the whole site to a new Hoster. Then the inevitable de-bugging and tuning, all done in evenings and weekends.
Can everyone see now why the man sometimes gets pissed off with spammers and trolls.. and when we get trivial complaints or flame wars with each side "Reporting Abuse" and the inevitable legal threats?
How long has the Foro been with them? Three or four months or so!
Yeah, about that and they go and get taken over, move eveything and it all goes to ****, typical. They had a great rep for many years.
I am looking at hosting it on our very own Virtual Private Server for the same amount of money - unlimited domains, much more disk and database space and hopefully, no crazies interferring because we get all the control. Though it is going to be more work to set it all up. I may be looking for a US technical volunteer to help me manage the service across timezones.
The web host 4 life name reminds me of a joke where a man comes home from the doctors and says to his wife "I have been told I have to take a tablet every day for the rest of my life" His wife says "why are you so worried about that" The man says " He only gave me 10 tablets"
