My #1 handmade Reyes copy is for sale.

Sorry for the long write-up, but I am "unknown", so want to be as detailed as possible - and stay away from my own opinion! This is guitar #1. It is a Reyes copy from Tom Blackshear's plans, and I am a very experienced woodworker, cabinet maker, etc., and brought those skills with me to this endeavor. I was also lucky enough to be instructed and watched by another experienced luthier who attends the Romanillos' workshops, and I use his shop and tools. The guitar was examined and played by concert classical guitarist Gerd Wuestemann, who claimed this #1 "to be nicer than many guitars I see at shows in the $3,000-4000 range". http://www.plaxo.com/directory/profile/206159123060/ed9a96ef/Gerd/Wuestemann" rel="nofollow">http://www.plaxo.com/directory/profile/206159123060/ed9a96ef/Gerd/Wuestemann Also praising the guitar is the very experienced San Diego flamenco/classical guitarist, Diego Corriente, who toured professionally for 29 years. He thinks my workmanship - and the guitars, to be a definitive flamenco guitar, and, with traditional pegs; "work the way pegs SHOULD work" (guitars #2 and 3 use traditional ebony pegs, #1 used peghed mechanical pegs). I was trained and build in the traditional Spanish techniques, using all beautiful 4A or Master grade woods. #1: Manuel Reyes Spanish Cypress back and sides European Master Grade spruce top Master Grade ebony fingerboard Spanish cedar neck and head, hidden graphite bar in neck for strength and no warpage 655cm scale, 54mm at the nut Action is right around 3mm, 6th string, 12 fret French polish. Brazilian rosewood bindings Cocobola headplate and bridge MECHANICAL pegs from pegheds.com. They work and play/tune, beautifully, but are very easy to use, yet maintain that traditional look (which I personally love). Guitar weighs in about 2.75lbs. It is LOUD, powerful, with beautiful separation, easy to play, easy to barr and play the upper frets. I am selling #1 for $1500-firm, with case, due to illness and I can't work for about 2 months. I will ship per instructions of buyer, for exact costs, but I'd rather it was a 'pick up' scenario (San Diego), as I'd prefer someone to be able to play it, first, although I have yet to hear a negative comment. Thank you thinkrand@hotmail.com PS: Award winning flamenco guitarist from Spain, Antonio Moya, http://arteypureza.com/tour/artists/antonio-moya.html also had a chance to play #1, and he was blown away. He could not believe it was the first one I've built. I am adding a clip. The sound is not great, as it was a cell phone, but Antonio, who plays a $6500 custom instrument, discussed with me about building one for him, personally. This is him playing my #1, RIGHT BEFORE a performance. http://s643.photobucket.com/albums/uu156/surf69er/?action=view¤t=Antonio_on_No1.flv http://i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu156/surf69er/1of2.jpg http://i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu156/surf69er/1of3.jpg http://i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu156/surf69er/1of4.jpg http://i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu156/surf69er/1of5.jpg http://i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu156/surf69er/1of7.jpg http://i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu156/surf69er/1of8.jpg http://i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu156/surf69er/1of9.jpg
