quote:
Melbourne - is that Flo?
not i am adelaide but the star is so big it covers both cityes
EDIT
ok i see it changes as someone posts, so as soon as someone from another country not posted logs on it might change and tells the latest posts...thats pretty cool
An IP Adress doesn't necessarily tell you which exact city you are. It could also just be the city where a Server of the Provider is. So the data is not 100% accurate, but it tells you whereabouts you are. I am not sure about this, but i think so.
Try the link above the map for a larger view and hover over each star for more information. Show's guests as well. Pretty cool. Just wanted to see how big our little world of flamenco really is.
its acctually kind of scary...we had a false sence of security and closenes but when u realize who and how many people u might not necesarely know could read what we say...well ....no more sex storyes from me
But something is wrong (or i am doing something wrong). We have about 500 Guests right now (as per data on bottom of the homepage). The Map only shows a few people (like 25).
Hi, my name is Giambattista del Rossso, I am from Italy (region Puglia, town of Molfetta - 25 km est from Bari), I am 52. ( I belive my IP should be the one indicating as"Putignano" in Italy, wich is a town 50 km west from mine) This is my firs post, truly I was encourged to mail this because I realized, looking at the map, how extended in the world is the partecipation to this forum. That is very nice! Truly I read you almost every day, my english is not that good. Anyway, I have a little practice on classical (I have a great guitar made from an italian yung Luhier - Stefano Robol- I belive one of the best in my Country) and last november I had my 1A blanca Anders Eliasson flamenco guitar!, beautiful and great flamenco guitar!!. I also have a Ramirez FL2. I go to lessons in my touw because flamenco is hard to play! and since I love it, I want to learn. what else... thanks to everybody for the precious contribute given every day to better understand this extraordinary experice that is flamenco!
ciao, Giambattista
PS. :special thanks to Anders Elliason for his honesty, deep knowledge and passion making guitars!

I figured it out in the car today. It is implemented with JavaScript, so it runs client-side i.e. in your browser. It won't show up for search robots (which don't run any scripts) only those people who view our site with a browser. Live users "glow", others remaon to show a history.
The client side script says "Hello, this is my IP address" then the server hosting the map does a reverse IP lookup to get an approximate location based on the ISP for that IP address range.
