I have never heard of this. But here is my simple take on it courtesy wikipedia "bigendian" is typically about byte order (computer "words" can be composed of 2 bytes = 16 bits, or 4 bytes equals 32 bits, or 8 bytes = 64 bits etc depending on the architecture and power of the computer processor), it means that the more important numerically significant byte goes first - simple everyday examples of that are "92", or "year, month day". smallendian means the smaller least significant byte goes first, like "zwei and dreizig" ("2 and thirty" i.e. the way the germans do it) or "day, month, year". Mostly we never worry about that crap, that is like worrying about the computer machine language instructions! Motorola chip i.e. apple computers before they went to the intel chip a couple of years ago use bigendian, and the intel chip aka microsoft windaze is smallendian. But, if you have the video codec on your machine, it should play imho. If macs couldn't create stuff to play on intel machines, well then macs would be DOA as they are like 5% of the market. But macs can and do create stuff that plays on intel machines eg windows. Quicktime for example. Ask him what the codec is and make sure you have it on your computer. Forget the bigendian crap. Don't worry about it. It is not a video codec. The guy was talking BS to freak you out. Good luck!

[quoteBut you may not get a SMTP timecode through the transcoding (does Canopus support timecodes?), so synching multi-camera footage and audio is going to be almost impossible. Can Canopus support a multi-camera set-up? Editing this would be non-trivial. ]quote:

My two cents I am a bit of a control freak like that lol...only i know what i want and sometimes i dont even know myself until i experiment, but i know when i get it..and i want control over it...where the camera looks etc.. which angle we use, which effects, how light and how dark it will be...plus it will be fun for me and to him its a job to me is what i love cause it concernes our work...he might hurry to get the job done, i wont let it leave my desk till i am 100% happy but most of all I enjoy it ... quote:
so whats this all about? just a show...i use my webcam for my pornos quote:
He's talking about broadcast quality orginal raw files ready to be edited on professional studio equipment and what you are after is just some good quality footage you can mix down yourself yes i think you are right...i dont have any specific filmaker hardware but i have a prety fast cpu and all the video software in the world..so something at a half decent quality that i can use would be just perfect Adobe premier, Canopus Edius.Pro.v3, Sony Vegas Pro 8.0b, Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 12, Canopus ProCoder v3.00.50, DVD Architect...acctualy i like using VIRTUAL DUB and the free effects...theres some very good ones out there for free.. i should be able to get a half decent result... this was my first edit with different angles...the 2 cameras were different on 2 different nights...one was hd and the other not...so it looks different but i got better, i did it in EDIUS...this is a low quality just for the web...the video is clearer in this one messed around with colours to make everything more vibrant http://www.facebook.com/v/188435820923 and this one i used mixed different angles ... http://www.facebook.com/v/192573080923
