i saw andy's francisco. it's very tempting. i have to save up first and beat the crap out of my c3f before i upgrade though. i like that rose rosette but his normal ones are really nice too.

my bridge is 57-58mm so it wouldn't be a problem for me. what's standard? how wide was your old guitar?

how much distance is there between the strings and the soundboard?

can't wait to hear your upload!

My old guitar was 60, and the FN 58.
I really couldn't understand it would make such a difference, I have to get used to it.
The main benefit for me is that the scale is 650. For me its more comfortable to play.

I've uploaded som audios already.

About the rosette,...Andys rosette is much much much nicer than the standard rosette, and personally I think you have a very good guitar, especially with the planetary pegs.
My advise for beating the crap out of that c3f...act if you are in Metallica and smash that thing to pieces...it only takes of few seconds

i wonder if francisco will build with maple. i really like the look of maple.

did you get a chance to measure the string height above the soundboard? this is important for me. my skin is starting to peel off from m golpes.

Just invite us for your live webcam performance and you have a large audience....later on we'll put it on youtube and you got even a bigger audience...

The string hight at the bridge is 8 mm and at the 12th fret 4 mm...give or take, because I used an centimeter as construction workers do.

thanks for taking the measurements. so i'm pretty sure i'm going to get a francisco next. rose rosette, german spruce top, maybe pegs, maybe maple if he'll do it. oooooh yeaaah.

i know you said give or take but 4mm is a bit, isn't it?

I've re-measured it with a Camel™ Blue measuring tool and it fitted just perfectly, it didn't slip and it didn't get squashed.

cuerdas, i don't want no confused half & half guitar! if it's such a good guitar, i wonder why he's selling it.

@Sean, also my amateur eyes think its spruce.
Cedar is more brownish also I believe...but I'm no wood expert.

yeah man, those are selfmade udu's. Sometimes you will hear them also in flamenco recordings.
It was a hell of a job to make them....circles from clay ontop of eachother, scraping etc. I loved doin it, but it needed lots of patience.

It is indeed low, I'll get used to it but it needs adaption.

kozz, are they easy to play? maybe i should take a pottery and make one. did you learn how to make it by yourself?

so many projects... so little time.... ok, got to go start on my cejillas now.

Actually my mom is into ceramic and she makes all kinds of abstract objects. When I listended to a lot of african music I saw those things. I believe woman were not allowed to make music and therefore they'd created these vases as it looks like a wine vessel.

So my mom taught me how to build one....the funny things is, she didn't know what it was either and when it was finished everybody at here ceramic-club started making them....

The are not hard to play, the have very deep basses and you can tune the bass sound with covering the tube opening partially.

There are many commercial ones available, in very nice shapes, and there are even people who really make damn fine Udus which are just pieces of art....just do a google search

You can make them yourselves, but they need to be baked in an oven several times.
