Does the golpeador prevent the top f...

This might seem like a completely silly question but ive always wondered if the golpeador prevented the top from breathing and developing, and therefore killing the potential sound of the guitar a bit. For example I noticed that some builders (Reyes most notably) used 2 plates so that there would be less surface of the top covered, whilst most builders use a single plate that is fairly big and cover more of the top.
Id love to have some opinions on that matter.

I've played many guitars before and after golpeador installation and haven't noticed any difference. Furthermore, what difference does it make? You're not going to want a flamenco guitar without a golpeador so the questions is moot. Don't you think?

the only thing that i know for sure, is that a white golpeador, kills the look of the guitar

but i don't think that a golpeador kills the sound.

but how about this: you could be innovative and build a tap plate, which is just fixed on 3 or 4 points with little connections (could be with springs) to the top and so has 1 or 2 mm distance to the top ...

(i know, i am an einstein)

Some people think it makes the guitar sound better. The question is does the guitar have a good golpe sound? Some guitars have better sounding golpes than others and then there's the golpe technique of the player. The golpe is an important musical statement and it can be really nuanced or really brutal.

Willie Nelson's guitar has a great big hole in it. He needed a tap plate years ago, but then if had gotten one he would not be Willie Nelson as we know him.

How's that for flamenco logic?
