You remember Anton Jimenez from the CD "la nueva escuela de la guitarra flamenco" and his innovative Solea por buleria, Buleria and his rondena? Here a sample:
Well I checked google for any records played by him.. And I found a new youtube-video. Its 21 days old..
And it is called :ANTON JIMENEZ 9 REINAS Subtitle: ANTON JIMENEZ PRESENTA SU PRIMER ALBUM EN SOLITARIO
Well,.. his guitar is in the very background of this composition which seems to be mostly a bass, e-piano-rythm track. But its for sure him who is playing.
Does anybody hear abnything about that he wants to or already recorded his first CD?
Well,.. Theguitar-box which he holds is new. Its has been made around this year. Maybe I also buy suh a nice box.. But Tom Auffart played for Jimenez around 2004... So the recording can´t be new. Really strange video.
RE: Anton Jimenez has a CD out? Got ... (in reply to Doitsujin)
Ok, to my question if he made a solo CD I got 2 answers from this mail-address. The first wrote Anton Jimenez himself. He wrote in Spanish that he only understands Spanish and has to find somebody who could translate my mail for him. Than he would answer my questions. Than I translated my mail into Spanish and got a second answer. This time it wasnt Jimenez. It was somebody else.. and IMO it was a very unprofessional sloppy answer. This person didnt really gave me an answer. He just came up with this:
quote:
hola, ahora hay mas videos de anton jimenez en la red,si desea su disco deje su direccion aqui y se lo mandamos por correo y lo abona contrarembolso.de donde es usted'?
I don't understand it completely.. Could somebody translate this mail please?
Because of the unprofessional sloppy answer which almost says nothing, I am a little disappointed..

Hi Doit

"Hi, there are more videos of Anton Jimenez on the web now, if you want his disc, send your address here and we'll send it to you CashOnDelivery. Where are you from?"
RE: Anton Jimenez has a CD out? (in reply to Doitsujin)
Oh........ I made a mistake... Its quite a good answer. Well, I still want to know where on the net are more videos... But I will send them my address now! Hes IMO the best player I know at the moment. I never saw another guitarrist who played with dynamics like him. I will see if it is worth the money... Im sure it is!
RE: Anton Jimenez has a CD out? (in reply to Doitsujin)
Me not.. but you can find out. Check the video of him playing that composition. Check where he does single notes and tune your guitar till it fits. And than.. please tell the rest of us what the tuning is.
RE: Anton Jimenez has a CD out? (in reply to Doitsujin)
Yeah that's correct it's standard tuning except the 6th is tuned to B. I guess the sound of his (or not his) guitar made me think it was crazier..it just has this weird presence almost like a 12 string. Really cool sound though.

Doit, could you tell how much the CD costs inclusively shipping to germany? I just hope its not a Rumba CD?
I don´t know.. I hope not much, because you can only pay at the door.. I am normally not at home.. And if I am,.. I never open the door when some strangers ring the bell (postman included). So I let them send the CD to a friend and he will pay..

Anton is a great player, too bad he doesn't have the recognition but there is a lot of great young talent in Spain. From what I understand that "aluminum" guitar (in weight of course) was made by the late Milan Sabljic of Serbia.

This sounds extremely odd, Doit...
Why not??
cheers,

Because when I did, there were always some idiotic people who wanted to sell telephone-contracts, or the church who wanted money just as present, or the GEZ (they take money from you if you have a computer... they say it makes it possible for you to hear radio or watch TV.. so you have to pay... such dorks..., and other ****s who wanted money for whatever... If friends come to my house, I know when and open of course.. also for my neighbours.. bt not for any other odd people. Ah yes, Im living at the 4th floor... so most often some idiots forgot their keys and ring everywhere to get in as well as plumbers and other people who want to enter the house but their contact-people dont open. So all the dumbs ring everywhere... So,. I dont open.
RE: Anton Jimenez has a CD out? (in reply to Doitsujin)
Ah!...OK... understood, Doit.
Yeah, it sometimes gets on my nerves when I'm busy doing something and the doorbell goes and it's two nice old ladies handing me a copy of "The Watchtower" and telling me how the Jehovas Witnesses will change my life.
However, you can always look forward to a peaceful future though Doit, when you're a high earner in the Genetics field and have a nice cottage in the country, with a few Alsations and Rottweilers running around playfully in the garden.
Didnt check it on the guitar, but i am 99% sure the piece is in B. The 6th might be tuned to B. Rest standard tuning IMO.
also without checking on the guitar, maybe someone will confirm, but it could be the same as Gerardo plays siguiriyas in, with 6 down to B and 1 down to D#...??

or the GEZ
once one of these GEZ guys (i am sure this guy was some criminal before he got that job from GEZ, i bet the ONLY job he ever had in his life) wanted to come in to my house and see how many TVs, PCs, Radio, etc. i have.
he looked very unfriendly and acted provoking right from the beginning and i think he wanted to scare me also a bit, so that i do everything he wants and sign all the papers, etc.
i said to him "no problem, you can come in, inspect everything i have, and i would even offer you a cup of coffee, but after you are done with your job,,,, i doubt that you will ever leave this house alive, A$$HOLE"
he suddenly went very friendly and said that this is a law in Germany and that i should relax, etc.
then i said: **** you, i will never pay anything, and specially not to you, who wants a comission by scaring people! do whatever you like. now, come in and find out or go to hell.
I HATE THEM ! they try to scare people, and they also get comission for each one who signs that GEZ paper.
i have really no problem to kick them in the ass and even go to jail for few days. they want money for things i never use ! this is a law in germany which i really HATE !
i would talk 3 hours to someone from whitness of jehovas or something, but not pay one cent to GEZ.
RE: Anton Jimenez has a CD out? (in reply to Doitsujin)
Doitsujin - did you ever receive the CD? Which one was it? Do you have any pictures of it you could share? I'm trying to collect all of Anton Jimenez's CDs but can only find them in MP3 format, and I don't even see any pictures of actual CDs, even if they sold out long ago. Let me know if you get a chance - thanks!
