RE: FINAL Solea challenge for beginners (in reply to michel

Wow, 16 people, this is turning into a mega solea challenge... Do you think the Guinness book of records would be interested?

btw, has anyone got any decent Solea loops to play along with? Fairly slow ideally - I'm probably going to record it at about 60bpm or maybe a bit faster, but slower than the recording.

Out of interest what's a typically 'standard' Solea speed?

Actually now I think about it, these loops generally are a complete mystery to me. How do I make a loop? And if I've got a loop how do I make it loop?

RE: FINAL Solea challenge for beginners (in reply to domzo

anders posted a solea loop on this page about half way down
http://www.foroflamenco.com/tm.asp?m=94341&mpage=4&p=1&tmode=1&smode=1&key=

you can slow it down or speed up during playback in windows media player.
it's pretty long so you dont have to loop it.

whoops, i think that this might be easier for me than i thought, so i will officially pull out of the competition. but i like this falseta, so i will upload an audio file by the deadline. of course, i might be a moron and my recording might still suck so we'll see.

i really like the pressure of deadlines with these challenges!

Do you know Doug I did think that when you asked to be in it! But this isn't the sort of competition with prizes and winners. You are only really competing with yourself to upload the best playing you can, and your prize is getting honest feedback from experienced flamencos.

that's true, alisa. so i'll keep my hat in then.

and regardless, i'd like to get to the point where i pressure myself to upload something every two months to the foro. i need the pressure or i fall into endlessly noodling around.

Challengers! Hi guys - just a little reminder - 19 days of practise to go! Well 18 if it takes you as long to record as it does me....

Esteemed judges! Please keep some time free on 21st and 22nd April to listen to the entries - your comments are the prize

at-leo-87, my partner in crime! Thanks for all your help with organising. Hope you are still free to receive and upload all the files. What code names are we going to have this time - any ideas?

Yeah we could do that - I do have a paypal account. But we are all in different currencies which makes it messy. What does everybody think? We can do it if there's general agreement.

Only one I know is La Cicciolina, because there was a portrait of her in an art exhibition I went to. So that's given my code name away then......

yup, im still here. i cant wait to receive all the submissions. time has been ticking by very slowly for me

i think the prize pool paypal money is a good idea. we still have plenty of time to decide what the prize should be.

as for the code names, i think i would need florian to do some..*ahem*... research. 16+ porno names is a lot. try not to get distracted and stay objective. LOL

or we can do funny sexual positions (hot carl, dirty sanchez, angry dragon, teabag, Eiffel tower, etc...)

this serious competition is getting some comic relief. lol

16 challengers so far!...you should be proud greate job

if this succeeds it will be the biggest one yet...and you did it all yourselfs !! ole

thats why it would be nice to see you guys award yourselfs with some nice prices...dont wait anymore...dont talk about it too long, a executive decision is required, so that you allow yourself time to get organised and get the price...

Can the guys involved in this challenge please give the organizers an indication if they are happy to contribuite 2 or 3 dollars towards the prize wich the winner and 2nd place gets ?

its ofcourse a volunatry thing so its up to you guys in the challenge

i am busy searching for good porno names for you

sorry i hope i am not butting in, hope i am not out of line .. just excited for you

Listen I don't think the porno names is a good idea because you are one of the judges and your opinions might be swayed by whoever is your favourite star

LOL

she has a good point. we cant risk the chance. and it's not only with you, florian.

take a look at the judges:
Jason
Florian
Ron.M
Doitsujin
Ricardo
Kate

they're ALL guys except for kate. LOL. now im not saying all the judges are pervs and one handed flamenco players/internet surfers, but STATISTICALLY speaking...

but please do continue conducting your research. just remember, when they ask for your credit card, always say no!

thats a bit sexist ..Oh i see because shes a woman she must not like sex ..! i have taken a vowl to Kate to always fight for womens rights here !! so please no discrimination ..

Dont worry girls Florian is on the case i will continue to fight for your rights !! u are just as entitled to watch pornos as any of the guys..I caN find male porn stars names too !!

...after a woman has done her cooking, washing and the cleaning for the day who are we to tell her how to spend her free time..

..I wonder if theres any women only adult websites ? probably linked with a shopping store or something..

or one where if you click on a guy he puts his clothes on instead of taking them off

and for the "Hardcore" section theres a guy doing the cooking, cleaning and slow montion videos of him putting the toilet sitt down

well, i wasn't talking about real sex. just the solo, virtual stuff. that's why it's us guys that are always like, "i need my alone time" right? and the girls are always nagging for more together time.

quote:

...after a woman has done her cooking, washing and the cleaning for the day who are we to tell her how to spend her free time..

after all that work, women are smart enough to find more productive ways to spend their free time.

quote:

probably linked with a shopping store or something..

hey! now i like shopping too! just not for clothes. for different types of "electronics." computers, video games, dvd players, etc.

anyways, this sounds like an entrepreneurial idea that you can start and get rich off of. lol. but the only way to get flamenco aficionado traffic to your site is if you stared in it yourself.

quote:

and for the "Hardcore" section theres a guy doing the cooking, cleaning and slow montion videos of him putting the toilet sitt down

dude, sign me up. i want to get rich! i do this stuff anyways all the time!

Just for the hell off it i put in google ."porno sites for women only" its disgusting !! it has writting and stuff instead of photos !! i am outraged...thats disgusting and the way it depics man as just sexual objects..just ...really really wrong !!

but what upsets me the most is that women get turned on by all the writting !!!
I didnt need this ! i dont know if i will ever be able to have relations with another woman again all the pressure to talk and write after is too much ..
naughty !!

heres one of this outrageous websites and at the bottom it has SHOPPING TOO !
Outrageous

...no more off the subjects posts from me ...was just courious..

MEN dont go in there, you will feel cheap and used

Sorry Ailsa and Kate i hope my jokes dont offend you in anyway, just kidding around...but once i got the idea into my head about women only adult sites i just had to check, cause i thought i just made it up...WHO KNEW !!!

Too bad I'm not in the competition (will never be able to deliver by 20-4) but my name of choice would be Peter North, and not because he writes hot stories LOL

Seriously, I'm the one needing the alone time more than my partner, I like being alone every now and then plus I have a hard time practicing when I'm not alone.

I will excuse me from this challenge...after studying the material over and over again I was getting bored and did loose the "feeling" I had for Soleares.
Therefore I gave up practicing this Solea for the challenge and started to study some other material in order to get some variation and keep my interest.
Another part also was that I felt I really had to work on my right hand coordination and I am giving priority to that now....with succes

Nevertheless it was nice to practice this one and will definately pick it up at a later time.

Succus y'all,....and uhhh I would have chosen Naomi as my name....her *ss is like the best guitar stand you ever can imagine

Oh no definatly not, it was a real challenge, and still is....but sometimes you can overdo something while studying....I really need the variation to keep me interested (sort of story of my life, many different jobs etc)....

I surely will check out all contesters, because I am really curious how the recording by Graf can be really turned into something beautifull, something less nerveous.

I listened to the piece again and there are quite a number of difficulties mainly concerning attack (anybody can play the straight notes) and power and cleanliness of rasgueado.

I'd be very happily surprised if anyone comes close to this sound.

So don't dismiss it out of hand in case you've completely missed something important!

(Except playing the "straight" notes, which I already said is not very difficult. )

cheers,

Ron
