I was looking at again and noticed the credit at the end, then I thought, jeez!was that really you playing Ron? It's just sooo... good, everything is perfect. I don't think all the guys on Foro realise this, especially with the wig and all, I just thought it was a spoof! Crumbs! terrific playing there man, yea! terrific. Stunned.
Well thanks Jim....it's maybe a bit of a trick, because I just had a sort of fundamental 3/4 rhythm going in my head to keep me on track over the bits I found difficult. Also I added lots of compression and reverb to give it a larger than life sound to try to recreate the same impression I had when ToddK sent me the original low quality mp3 he got off the Net that impressed me so much.
(When I heard the "clean" version, I didn't like it as much!....Sorta like hearing an overdriven version of Chuck Berry on a juke box for the first time....then when you eventually get the record it sounds too tame! )
Basically I tried to get a Phil Spector sound going on a 3 minute single..
thanks jim! ole! now i understand why you can be so critical of other's playings. dont know if this was mentioned before but that wig actually looks very natural on you. all you need to complete the flamenco look is a 5 o'clock shadow beard.
