Some of you may remember my thread a while back where I inquired about Barbarossa guitars. Well in the end, I took TANúñez's advice and went with my gut instincts, and have commissioned Mr. Blilie to build me a flamenco. He's sent a number of pics of the progress so far, and I wanted to post just a few of them as a preview; I'll put the entire photo set online when the guitar is completed. I like how he stamps the neck block and signs the underside of the soundboard. http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/774/partialassemblykt5.jpg I'm told that the guitar will be physically complete in 2 months or so, but the shellac finishing will take considerably longer. I've always considered myself a patient person but damn, I'm having a hard time waiting it out for this guitar to show up on my doorstep!

Good for you Kovachian. I REALLY hope you like it because it looks like I'll get the blame if you don't [:(] I'm sure you will though. Is this built in the style of Barbero? The bracing pattern resembles a Barbero.

Haha no I will not blame you TANúñez, if I'm unhappy for whatever reason I'll have no one to blame but myself. There'll be no scapegoats here! It is in fact based on a '51 Barbero design. There's going to be some deviations though, including a cutaway, 650mm scale and a 52 mm nut but other than that, the bracing and everything else will be according to the plan.

That's a really nice bearclaw top. If you think it looks nice now, wait until after the finish has been applied. All the details will just jump out.
