Excited for this trip and to meet you folks, but with my low shoulder mobility guitar playing is proving to be a struggle. Can manage a few minutes in the traditional flamenco position, and classical guitar position is almost manageable, so maybe I should sign up for the cante class! Flying into Jerez on 12th, out from Seville on the 19th. Los Helechos booked up until the 17th then whatever cheap hotel I can find for the last 2 nights.

Went to too many thumping bass heavy raves over the past decades it seems. I enjoy softer more acoustic performances where i don’t have to wear ear protection. Went to see Radiohead last autumn and fell asleep as it sounded dull to my ears… in fair, they were pretty dull anyway! What treatment did you try stu? Acupuncture seemed to help for me, this was about 6 years ago though.

I struggle in places with cacophony of sounds. hoping the fiestas in sanlucar are managebale and enjoyable and not ruined by my lame ear. looking forward to this trip too! cant wait. I will be in seville from 10th to 12th.chillin then heading to sanlucar for welcome do on the 13th. meeting a gang in seville may be more tricky now as I have family in tow.!

Flying on Friday afternoon. I'll be arrivng in Sanlucar on sunday afternoon and once in my accom ill be heading straight to the plaza to Balbinos for bowl of salmorejo, a beer and soak up some vibes. ..... little meet up in the plaza? Harry I will recognise you and ddias...but beno... drop me a DM and we can all hook up! Anyone heard who might be playing this year in the Tuesday eve concert? I think it was Dani de moron last year.

One of the coolest things about the DVD reissue of the Rito series was the Caracol episode intro there is an awkward silence on the original as they scan over Caracol's property where the juerga takes place, and someone filled that in with Gerardo's tremolo from his Granaina. He says nothing about Alejandro Hurtado so I guess that plan fell through. Alvaro Martinete concert Tuesday and Diego del Morao Thursday.

it was a great week of fun and flamenco. i did antonio carrion's cante course in the evening 5-7pm. learnt al of new things and gonna focus on a few of the cante de levante and toques libres for the next few months. focus of class every day was Solea. great variety of people on the course and the cante people joined us on thursday & friday to practice together. concerts were alvaro martinete and jose manuel leon...some phenomenal playing and musicianmanship. took my youngfella along this year, and did quiet a few touristy things in jerez, cadiz and sanlucar. he enjoyed it and got to hang out and see some flamenco, and the lads were impressed by some of his playing on the guitar, some japanese traditional music and french medieval music. hope to make it again in 2027
