Tato and Manuel Guillena starts from 1k , and Tato have perfect finish uses only wood from 1a, Manuel Guillena is very similar and sound nice.

Ortega (one of the best working with Cedar) starts from 1,5 or 2k , like Pantoja for example , and they sound very good

Like good players , they have good makers , they re a 30m population , so of course the quality have to be great with so many people playing and making.

check all the videos that i post , but people are free to buy expensive factoy Condes etc

Do you read your own comments? “Starts from” means Valencia or some factory. As I said earlier, no Luthier made guitar costs like that.

Manitas de Lata -> RE: Spanish (or based) Guitar Makers (economical, others models) (Apr. 9 2024 12:09:59)

no valencia , free to go there and check for yourself, or with someone from there

i said start , because if you choose other woods and or peghead with witnner will be more , or even shellac of course

The waiting list is 12 months + - , in my opinion the price will rise soon
Manuel Guillena is a well knowed guitarrero from Sevilla Arahal , you can check with people from sevilla
Tato is from Huelva and its making a name for himself , hes a licensed naval carpenter and a woodworker , if you know someone from that area you can check it with them

Why would someone one want shyte wood?? Why waste man power hours to construct and gamble on shyte wood outcome? Factory guitars have no competitor in those price ranges due to BULK production. They will use decent woods as any luthier who could never afford to drop the price down there. I am not sure what is not clear?

Manitas de Lata -> RE: Spanish (or based) Guitar Makers (economical, others models) (Apr. 9 2024 15:24:24)

ask them , Tato only uses primera wood , well its more honest for now than price tag a guitar the same as someone that allready have a name in the market , thats why i allready said that the price will increase soon ... his work is really good thats why 1 year waiting list , many people wants to get the "lower" price.
theres the phone number above ask Tato his business plan, or talk with someone that you know from Huelva.

Regarding Manuel i dont know , but keepin in mind the huge market , its better to have work doing what you love than none or very few . I really dont know his personal life and or business plan, but i get your point.
Hes well knowed in Sevilla so maybe its easy for you to check that.

Factory guitars are for example Luis Postigo (dont know if all)

If Morante is from Cadiz , maybe he can check Tato and Manuel

Look, we get it. But did you ever get/order this cheap amazing “1a” guitar that cost $1000??? Let us know when so that we may marvel at it competing against the factory and every homegrown luthier ever. We really would love to see it.

Manitas de Lata -> RE: Spanish (or based) Guitar Makers (economical, others models) (Aug. 16 2024 15:23:53)

im waiting , both had 1 year waiting list , Tato had 1,5 year maybe more for now
tato maybe better "investment" , he will increase price in near future.
so i choose manuel but still waiting

For that discussion we have to discuss business models , some prefer to making more guitars and have allways work to do (and put more crafts on the market) , some prefer the opposite. You can apply this on anything , on giving classes , gigs... some prefer to do give to all the students that can give , some dont... just prefer few students
you re free to visit them and see how they work , one in huelva and other in sevilha
my sources told me they re not factory
in other hand , if the discussion is "which guitar is better? factory or not so well knowed guitarreros?" well i think it depends of some factors.

why you dont make some calls or messages , you know for sure way more people in spain (and other countrys ) than me , specially in flamenco comunity

Professionals need good workhouse guitars and they buy them. Stupid aficionados spend their lives wondering. For them, any old guitar would do, even if they had to accompany a famous cantaor in a juerga. Get real.

I always liked people speaking clear, but isn't this one too straight forward?
Without offence, "stupid aficionados" doesn't sound too strong for a foro like this, mainly for aficionados?
Then, I agree with you there's a big gap between reality and expectations hyped by the internet and not based on the true things.

Manitas de Lata -> RE: Spanish (or based) Guitar Makers (economical, others models) (Aug. 17 2024 11:20:56)

i didnt understood his reply , it doesnt seem to match my text... so i cannot consider.
even your reply of the internet hyped...
Im talking of two persons well knowed in Huelva and Sevilla (manuel even outside Spain) , so WTF ? lolol

Morante , you re native right? please tell us more ....or make some phone calls , like Ricardo you must know a lot of people in that region....

Echi -> RE: Spanish (or based) Guitar Makers (economical, others models) (Aug. 17 2024 13:09:50)

I wasn't making reference to your post.
I was giving my 2 cents about the idea of "aficionados" speaking of what they don't know about.
In tis context I meant that some brands are hyped by marketing and when you get in your hands the real thing you risk to be disappointed.

It happened to me to be disappointed by many famous names before I got to understand better what guitar worked and what didn't for me and why.
At a certain stage, as a trained luthier, I started looking in depth into well known flamenco guitars and built up my taste.
I think there's nothing wrong in looking for less known local luthiers if you want to save money. I for one always went for 2nd hand guitars

Manitas de Lata -> RE: Spanish (or based) Guitar Makers (economical, others models) (Aug. 17 2024 13:53:43)

for sure and thats the point of this topic , to get to know more guitarreros , theres dozens in spain that are not so knowed like the hyped or factorys
