I agree with just about everything said here, except using cedarwood for a shim. I would use a hardwood shim, as the bridge is made of hardwood and cedar is very soft. Bone would be fine, but probably more difficult for someone without experience to shape.

I used a nail filer and filed the bridge slot from that small hindrance shown in the red circle and now it fits squarely
