There was some confusion about the sale of G strings I think.
All I can say is that the lingerie is not made at the shop but Im not allowed to say where it actually comes from.

That nothing is forever could be alright, if it changed to the better.

Unsure about the latter, the news sound somehow sad to me, even though having never owned a Conde and in fact not been fond of how profit margins were inflated under that label.

Still, so much history in a place and building, now left to fading stories and photographies. >sniff<

anyone know if they moved to different premises or wound up the business? That was the original Domingo Esteso shop, then Faustino Conde

is the pic a spoof? they still got a website http://www.hermanosconde.com/

EDIT: I see from this thread http://www.foroflamenco.com/tm.asp?m=274991&appid=&p=&mpage=1&key=&tmode=&smode=&s=#274991 that the business was wound up earlier this year;

the store is shutting down, so they are liquidating stock.

Pretty sure it was this kind of false advertising of Faustino Widow that spawned the "PDL" model guitar made by V. Carrillo, spearheaded by Ramon who was frustrated more than Paco I am sure.

100 years of guitars was probably enough, and Faustino's widow probably retired?

what's the "false advertising"? the website? the promotion of that shop as the "original Domingo Esteso/Faustino Conde" shop? or the "Paco de Lucia guitar"? That last one really cheeky if it didn't have Paco's agreement, it says "the guitar habitually played by Paco de Lucia. Designed by Faustino Conde especially for Paco de Lucia, and now placed on the world market with his express agreement"

Morante -> RE: Hermanos Conde GRAVINA 7 -lingerie shop !! (Sep. 10 2015 16:00:37)

It is true that the viuda had a couple of pristine guitars signed by Faustino. Her story was that they had been ordered by aficionados, who died. Their viudas returned the guitars to the shop, hardly played, which explained the new condition.

She told me that the guitars in the shop were made by former aprendices of Faustino, which I took to mean the people of Pozuelo de Alarcon.

I don´t remember the price of the Faustinos exactly, because I thought it was crazy, around 100,000 euros.

The "Paco de Lucia" models I played were very ordinary.

Bueno, the guitar I bought in '78 for 15,000 pesetas from the hands of Faustino, was from Pozuelo de Alarcon and it was the main guitar in the Peña de Irlanda del Norte for many years.

Now it hangs on the wall of the Peña, since we bought from Gerundino.

But it was a fine flamenco guitar, within its limits.
