Conversely…I “know music”, or rather, I knew how to read music and understood the capo-less fingerboard almost a decade before I got involved with flamenco. I actually did use the capo for some pop songs on occasion (I think it was the silly Nelson video that clued me in to the possibilities, which came after 5 years of shredding on electric). So growing up with nice classical guitars, transposing with capo was no problem as I tip toed into flamenco world. But then I got my hands on some acoustic electric guitars (one of which I use as my main axe today). The damn dots screw with my head so bad it is not even funny. I am in 3 por medio down low I still see D minor scales, but any falseta up higher I am literally seeing F minor every where with those dots. I have gotten used to it somewhat in my old age, but as recent as last Sunday out door festival…I had to perform this falseta that I had created for a show last year, that was capo 1, but using my conde it was no problem. So jumping on stage with my Cordoba the cantaor said “hoy? 2 por medio!”, as he was feeling strong. No problem, all the singing…and then came the falseta. I looked at that fingerboard like it was the first time I had ever played a guitar!!![:D][:D] Totally lost, jodido.
