quote: Well, isn't being faceless part of the fun of the internet? It may be if you are looking for a date!!! I think of this forum as a social club where people with a common interest share their experiences. So I think part of the fun is to have a picture of the person you're communicating with in your mind. It is particularly interesting for me to know what these people do for a living, if anything, outside the Flamenco circle. I thought that in the dating forums you had to post your pic. This forum is to form a communication channel between people from all over the world that have a common interest. So what does what I look like have to do with it? I'm here to discuss flamenco, hear what the knowledgeable people in the forum have to say about flamenco and learn from them and share my knowledge. It would never have been possible for me, living where I live, without a tool like this forum. I guess my comment about the fun of being faceless is that in this forum you respect the people because of their opinions, their knowledge, their experience and their skills and not based on irrelevant matters, like how they look. My experience is that looks tends to bring various prejudices which get in the way of having a truthful and meaningful conversation. I respect Ricardo, Sorin, Ron, Thomas, Anders, Toddk and the rest of you guys in this forum (can't list all of you...) because of what you have to say, not because of how you look. How you look is a curiosity which I can do fine without. Incidentally, I do happen to have my picture in my profile, if you are really curios...
