http://www.foroflamenco.com/tm.asp?m=189147&p=5&tmode=1&smode=1

From the above topic, I had problems with my i finger,
I received the guitar mute from edguerin several months back.
I would like to say that it helped alot.

When it arrived, the tension was quite high so I loosen the strings slightly,
and from months of doing exercises while being at work eg p i m a, a m i etc etc
and picado for the i to move properly without curling
My finger has improved alot. It is also good to practice rasgueados.

I put it on my lap and hold it with my left hand and let my elbow rest on a table to mimic the body of the guitar.

hope this would help someone.

I had one but the headstock collapsed - don't have the strings too tight. Useful aid.

Neolithic Model 1A
This one is a hand me down from Florian via Marduk to me...seen better days...think Sal made it...string tension gone no matter how many nails, screws or glue applied..
yours looks schmick...so how about a link and cost?
you'll get the wierdest looks from drivers when practicing rasqueado in the car at traffic lights, one of shock, disgust and disbelief......what do they think we're doing???[:D]

Can you really call it work if practice guitar all day ;)

I tried one of these 2 years ago and it did not feel natural, difficult, because it was not in the normal position, even though the one I tried had a neck band to hold it higher. But I imagine you get used to it.

Man.....that looks like it was made by the Abbos a very long time ago..

You'd probably get a good price for it on eBay, although you'd probably get investigated by the Australian Board of Antiquities too.[:-]

cheers,

Ron

did a search and this site has it
http://www.flamencoexport.com/all-flamenco/guitars/guitarmute-en.html

It good that i went to work at a new place where it's a lot quieter.
On the wkends and evening shifts, I even bring my sindonido in to practice.

THe guitar mute is really helpful for finger movements..
