Thanks mates - this guitar support has really helped me, and I can enjoy playing guitar again while maintaining bodily comfort. Diego, the owner of the company and the person who himself basically makes the supports, is just unbelievably great as a person.

Just realize that using this support you are going up against the flamenco tradition of keeping your balls visible so you will only attract about 50% of the normal number of women.[:D]

If I play cross-legged, my back will get thrown and thus my thrusting abilities will die off with it. What's the point of exposing my huge balls and attracting all those damsels only to fail to follow through because of a sore back? At least with this support, I'll get fewer damsels due to ball-attraction, but I'll be able to perform with the ones I do acquire.

Its looks really silly, not just the contraption but also sitting with two legs next to each other out in front like that. But form should always come after function, so if its helping you go with it [:)]

I've been using one of these for over a month now
For a decade I experienced intense episodes of pain in my back .. Leaving me unable to walk at times
Turns out I've had a hernia all that time
The support has made a huge change with noticeable benefits .. Along with some chiropractic and kinesiology work
Just playing so much more.. Great to
Be practicing more productively and positively ... Long dance classes are comfortable .. Solo gigs easier
Back and hands feel better and stronger

I guess I can always sit cross legged for shows ..

I think for anyone experiencing severe pain these supports work great for long periods with the guitar
I imagine they would have some preventative benefits as well

Maybe not everyone but 30 years of sitting cross legged really messed with my body
Never really considered to much how they look ... Beats a walking frame

I always find that when playing flamenco in usually cross legged position if i want to secure the guitar under my right arm it means slumping down slightly onto the guitar which is terrible for your back. At gigs I move around a lot to avoid problems but still it would be nice just to get a *little* more height in the guitar off my right thigh and a little angle in the neck so it is not parallel to the floor. It looks like I may be able to achieve this with this support, and still move around. Also this model is much more discrete (black) than the original.

Would be nice to have a support that facilitates old school position too, I have tried that with my Gitano support and it just falls off under the strain.

...so all in all looks really interesting, I'll give it a go.

BTW I found this guy's review really annoying, especially all the edits. You could do a much better job.

Here is what I've been playing around with lately:

Basically you just use a strap that's connected to the end block (I use a big suction cup that came with my Neck-Up). The strap goes over your legs and then you sit on it. It holds the guitar in a similar position to old-school flamenco. The legs are both flat on the ground. It removes any kind of twisting in the lower back and it seems to be helping. (For the last 5 years, I've been using a footstool and playing in the classical position). One modification I've used is to tape some suede on the top edge where the right arm touches the guitar. What this does is provide some friction so when I'm wearing long-sleeves (which is always at gigs), that it doesn't slide too much. It took me awhile to figure out that since I practice with bare arms and play with clothed arms, there was a difference there.

Well after a few months I have to say I love this guitar support, it has worked wonders for me. I get a nice position which is in between old school and modern - basically the waist of the guitar over the right thigh but with a raised neck.

Very comfortable, has helped my technique as it puts my right hand at much better angle (rasgueados are much more comfy especially) and the guitar is noticeably louder with the soundhole higher, which is more fun.

Other tall guys might want to check this out, I have used several other supports but this is easily the best for flamenco. The fact that you can quickly flip it down and play without it as demoed in the video is great too, as I like to move around a bit and change positions when playing for long periods.

Me too, it's like we're twins!

I wanted to replace my worn-out Neck-Up, which I use with my Cordoba FCWE for gigs. The FCWE is somewhat like a GK Studio, only about 2" wide (it's the one the Gipsy Kings previously were associated with). This is thinner than his normal models, and indeed, even thinner than the suction cup on my Neck-Up. When I asked Diego if his product would work, he offered to make a custom one, at no extra charge. He was very solicitous of my ideas, but I wanted him to make it according to his experience. So, I am eagerly awaiting the package, but it seems it has been a little delayed by Air Canada.

Iam 5'9 (180cm) and skinny, it's impossible to get good posture and my lower back isn't happy... Iam starting to think I should get one of those things.

Yeah the suckers do overlap the edges on the upper bout of my Anders guitar, but they hold really well (better than other support suckers).

Exactly my problem. Either hunch over or raise my legs, which gives the same result to my lower back.
