I think the only stand out string truly is the G.

I must say, for the price, they should be much better...A nice picture of Tomatito on the box is not enough to justify the price tag considering brands like D'Addario are half the price and better. Strange how the priciest strings (Hannabach, Savarez Tomatito, and Conde Hermanos) are often the ones that are meh strings.

I must say that I have found the Jose Ramirez strings to be very good.

I can now say with certainty that these strings do not make the grade. I really really discourage people from purchasing them. After 4 days, they still do not hold tune for longer than a short solea. That is just not acceptable. How stretchy are these strings? They just won't settle in?!

This marketing tactic disgusts me. At least with the Luthier packs, the strings are decent!

Are you referring to the Tomatito or the Ramirez that I had said I thought were very good?

Hey Ramon,

the Tomatito strings. The Ramirez I have not tried yet, but since these Tomatito strings are not settling in any time soon, I think I will try the Ramirez this weekend.

So for 16$ I get a nice box with Tomatito on it. Great presentation, but I have never seen strings that just don't settle in like this. The bass strings still drop one whole step overnight, and I changed the strings on Monday.

Ok saw these the other day in Guitar Center and couldn't help thanks to the cool package. I put em on immediately before gig. The basses only. they are typical savarez short length I don't like that, but they sound DAMN good!!! ANd for me they hold tune immediately, the normal tension set. I kept on my labella reds I will try to change trebs later. Been on my conde for couple days and still sound pretty kick butt. I think because they are a bit harder tension than Luthier or labella so they project stronger basses.

Anyway tonight is true test of durability...my buddy always kills new basses in single gig and we have a rumba gig he will use my guitar. i will report back if they have normal or crazy long life. Super expensive I know but so far I was impressed cuz I expected just typical savarez or worse just marketing bla bla.

The story goes that one of my favorite grand piano's (Bösendorfer) became famous overnight because it was the very first instrument that survived a concert of Liszt. They claim he used to demolish at least 1 piano a concert :-)

Wow, they are STILL good! [:D] Hats off to the maker I thought for sure they would be totally dead. They still sound good as new and I would not even need to take em off and restring em like i normally do after heavy gigs.

BUT.....there is a problem. The wear downs over the frets on the D string is bad. And in spot, 4th fret where we were capoing alot last night, the windings have already come open. The string will probably break before they die. That sucks. Not sure if it is my friend's fault or if because the strings are little hard tension this happened and will always happen. I am considering take receipt and go back to GC to see if they will exchange for a new set.

That a shame but not surprising. Saverez aways seem to pit on the fets. I guess that extra potent zing comes at the price of weaker construction.

I actually like the sound of saverez strings. I don't mind buying a few sets for recording every now and then, but for using regularly at gigs etc, It just gets overly expensive when they wear out so fast. If it's not the sound dying off drastically after only a few days, it's the pitting at the frets. Sound combined with durability is what I'm after.

They no longer exist but i liked chorus strings. They didn't sound as impressive as other strings during the first hours but they felt smooth, kept sounding acceptable for mounts (despite 10 hours of dance accompany a week) and they were immune for frets. But keep in mind that if strings prove to be immune for frets (like chorus) the frets themselves might become the weak spot. There are also special tires for bikes that are immune for flats but they demand a lot more of your spokes who become the new weak spot on the long run.

I put on a set of these Tomatito's on my Rodriguez classical and it just gave the guitar such a flmenco punchy sound. Seems good to me. My teacher imported a box of these and has a few concert guitars which he replaced all the guitars strings with these. So id guess its pretty good
