hey deniz, Im fully aware of that, I never said it was a classical performance. I said THE SKILLS (free and rest strokes ) are classical techniques, thats what i meant. I havent seen any flamenco techniques such as alzapua. @omar: quote:
it was a SHOW! & outdoor am not gona play Solea you know what? , I think you are missing the point. Solea is the mother of flamenco, and I think It must be played to give flamenco the right it deserves. when I go on stage, I ALWAYS play Solea (usually the very first thing I play). I play what I want, what I feel like playing, whenever I want, I don't give a f**k about what the audience think, I don't care to please them with my Rumba or something flashy. I don't need to please them, because they are here to listen to me and im there to TRULY Express myself and not to LIE to myself by faking my self expression. Im not trying to impress anyone. if you mess up, they wont know and wont notice. A lot of people out there (non-musicians) have a bad ear to music, and dont really know how to listen to music, dont really appreciate high quality music. I cant blame them, because of what they see and hear on TV. They listen to pop, metal, upbeat stuff, its all party kind of music that you would hear in bars, night clubs and parties.these people think that good music = something that excites their adrenaline glands and make them dance to it. [:@] THATS WHY people like the inferior form of flamenco Rumba.THATS HOW people like Jesse cook can become famous by pulling this sh*t off on the audience. however, there is always those very few people witihin the crowd who appreciate the soft, quiet, emotional and complicated melodies of Solea or classical music or any music like that.
