Whats with the palo Palabras?

Zambra is closely related to Tientos but with arabic influence. Maybe rare nowadays, but very flamenco IMO.

Most falsetas work for many palos, like for Caña or Alboreas you can play SolXBul, for Cartageneras you can play Tarantas, for Jabera you could play Malagueñas, for Marianas you can play Tientos, a Danza Mora is pretty much a Zambra, a Garrotín is Tiento in major key, Trillera is like a freely played Tiento.

Without singing it can be tough to figure out the palo unless the guitar plays a falseta like the melody of a letra. Often you can hear a little something in the rhythm or chord structure that might distinguish any of these, but without lyrics a solo piece can often be called more than one palo.

I could imagine Paco has done everything on stage with a singer, even only counting his years on stage with Camaron.

As far as Palabras, I'm not sure if I've ever heard Paco do something like this:

Nice, John...

I dig the two Flamenco dancers at the back as well, with the white socks and minimalistic baile choreography.

Good stuff this nuevo fusion!

cheers,

Ron

"Palavra" in Turkish means "BS talking" by the way [;)]

The first 4 letters of the artist's name say it all
