lol... You're missing the point, That's a high end/boutique shopping list you have there. Let's just take a very good budget electric guitar. A PRS SE Soapbar. Great guitar, great playability and sounds pretty good as standard. What's the Flamenco equivalent? I know I used some high end stuff to illustrate my point [:)] But the point is still valid... you can get some really decent mid-range flamenco guitars, which would be the equivalent of a PRS SE... check out Hermanos Sanchis Lopez, Fransisco Navarro, Pedro de Miguel (they have a really good student line of guitars) etc quote:
quote: ORIGINAL: avimuno Oh I know... but the difference is that when it comes to electric guitar playing, an amp is an integral part of your instrument - Eric Johnson goes as far as hand picking his cables because every little aspect determines the final tone. Thats really an aspect i consider important/advantage in acoustic instruments. At one point i was messing around with electric but put it aside quickly because of this. Deniz... that's part of the reason why I don't play my electric much... it's just so frustrating to get a good sound out of it without a lot of fiddling around and without waking up the neighbors! [8D] To come back to the subject at hand, I think that we are really living in the golden age of guitar making... it's really been democratized and there are guitars for any budgets now. There are lots of really good makers out there (whether electric, folk, classical and flamenco guitar), and despite there being some very expensive options, you can still find some very decent gear that will fit any budget... it's all a question of taking the time to look for them.
