thanks for posting about them ,gounaro , maybe for reviewing strings you just need 3 or 4 opinions and make an average guess at if you think you may like them depending on what you think of what you hear ...if that makes any sense..

I myself put Titanium on one guitar and it made a big difference but on another it made virtually no difference at all ,, to sound ... and everything else was the same .. still me playing it .....
However reviews are still very useful

I have to disagree here, I use the Titaniums for my negra, except for the high e which feels slightly higher tension, it feels no different from the normal pro arte.

I've always found that the best tactile feel was the trebles from labella etc, the slightly rougher feel.

You know, as you said, strings its a personal thing.

Sometime ago i liked snappy trebles. Now i prefer strings like D' Addario Pro Arte.

Of course it depends what i want and some years later everybody changes his mind.

@ Holy Evil. I dont think that Titanium trebles are the same with D' Addario Pro Arte. Different material.

How different we are.

I really like the Daddario flamenco strings with black trebles...[8D] I consider the tension to be medium or normal and as with all nylon trebles, they need some time before they start sounding well. Also the flamencos basses are slightly brighter and percussive and they sound well for a longer time than the normal pro artes. I definately prefer the flamenco g over the pro arte g.

All in all a great set of strings

I have found the Hannabach "Goldin" g string to work well with Pro Arte sets -- and Strings By Mail sells them individually. This post is also for those who like their trebles on the thinner side.

But Hannabachs are so expensive now in the USA; a much better price over in the EU I'm sure.

OK people, now explain to me the great appeal of black strings -- they seem an affectation, look to me kind of dumb on an ebony (basically black) fingerboard -- is this like wearing sunglasses at night or boots of Spanish leather?

I contacted D'addario, they told me the flamenco set trebles are actually standard pro arte hard tension trebles. The clear flamenco (EJ25C) same trebles as EJ46, the black flamenco (EJ25B) same as EJ50.

I took off the tomatito savarez strings lastnight and put on the Daddario flamenco's

My view:

Basses are nice and punchy for flamenco
Trebbles are not as they should be, abit soft and when doing a picado in a sort of medium tone it sounds "Gut like" so theres abit of an imbalance between bass and trebble. Not a big problem though coz now ill just put on the tomatito trebbles and see how they match up. Or first give it 2 or 3 days and decide from there.
Playability is very easy though and very soft on the fingers like a ( insert whatever you like) [:D] , probably a normal tension

Overall for where i am Ill say its good enough for now as these are the only flamenco strings that i managed to convince a supplier to get in locally.

If you wait a day or two the trebles improve a great deal-at least, that has been
my experience with these strings. I like them a lot.

you were right and they kind of settled in..I actually prefer them now over the Tomatito's

Im quite surprised of the sound to be honest.. very nice for 9 Dollar strings [:)]

I tried all the daddario,(dynacore,composite,exp,proarte...)

And always the same observation,the brightness dead in 2 or3 days.
I speak about the bass set,maybe it's the sweating of my fingers,but with other strings it's not like that.

I hate dadario except the price of bass set in STB,so i buy some sets for my bad guitar.

But never the treble set,the worst strings ever tried.in all reference.

I dont recommend any daddario for flamenco.
maybe for classical i dont know...


How strings by mail can do for have low price in almost all brands?

These are great strings for Flamenco, you need to wear sunglasses to play they are so alive and bright.

Thanks for the tip, pundi64, but I have a feeling it'll be another disappointment coming from D'addarios lol. Hoping for the best though, but I always go back to Luthiers which I think are still best for flamenco at the moment. Did you get these at StringsbyMail?

Maybe on your guitar/s - mine prefer Luthier or Savarez.

The Savarez are a little brighter to begin with, but fade quite quickly, while the Luthier keep going a lot longer.

But I think a lot depends on your hands, the guitar and your personal preference....

Not the first sets, but since then yes, bought them from Strings By Mail, they are great to deal with.

So now, i'm really enjoying the D'addario Dynacore EJ46TT

Titanium trebles with some sort of composite'esque basses.

They sound very good. Brighter than Pro Arte J46. TT trebles are nice
sounding, but i could see how the smaller diameter would annoy some people.
If you can get used to them, they have a nice bright, sweet tone.

The basses are very metallic which i love. If you dont like metallic basses,
dont get these. :) Also, these strings last a long time.

Just happened to get one these sets (D'Addario EJ25B) because the local music store was out of Savarez Cantiga new cristal normal tension, and was expecting the La Bella 427 the next day(which really did come). But anyway since I got them to remember how they sounded after many years, I thought why not have a reference?



The image in the video for D'Addario EJ25B is not correct, sorry. (It says EJ25C) The image for the preview is correct though.

Things that cannot be heard in the video:
EJ25B is a bit harder than the EJ45. The tension is medium for the basses, which is the same as the EJ45, and hard for the trebles, as in EJ46, so the as expected, the EJ25B is a bit harder to fret and play.
The black colour on the strings also changes the sound a bit, at least to my ears. I always feel the black strings, of any brand, take a bit away from the clarity their transparent counterparts have. But for playing only flamenco, the EJ25B is a very nice and powerful set, the EJ45 is still more versatile.

I have tried these before, they have a more "flamenco" response. Very punchy and zing than the regular Pro-Arte's. Even on my inexpensive Yamaha flamenco, it definitely adds more liveliness to the sound.
