How about this one Rombsix? Sorry for my mistakes. Just testing...

Olé! That was freakin' awesome! Now THAT's my kind of video. Very clear, close-up, good lighting.

1- Your guitar looks and sounds AMAZING!

2- I assume you're using the mic built-into the Logitech webcam, which frankly, distorts when you play bass notes, especially if via rasgueados. If you do NOT have anoter, better, mic, I suggest you remove the "real sound" option, and you lower the volume of the mic a bit (your guitar seems loud enough) - that might help with the distortion. Removing the "real sound" option will get MUCH better sound from the cam's mic.

3- Video quality is QUITE good, IMO. You recorded with the Logitech software, right? What settings did you have? Lossless format (largest file size)? How large was the video that you uploaded to YouTube? It took me HELL to load it! Did you edit the video you recorded (like compressing it, or something like that) before you uploaded it?

4- Video was not 100% smooth, but I say it was MORE than fine. I mean, this is a webcam we're talking about, eventually.

5- Olé!

[:D]

This cam has two built - in mics. I removed the "rigth sound" (camera's option) and it was at 1080 HD. Thats why it took you so long.I have to search what other things this camera has. I agree that bass notes are being distorted and i have to find a solution.

What is the "real sound" you're talking about? Do i have to do something to my pc or you mean only with my cam? [8|]

I mean "right sound." Sorry. How come I can only see 720p on YouTube if you say you shot it at 1080p?

Looks amazing both ways. [8D] Frankly, I have never been able to see the difference between 1080 and 720. It's a matter of splitting hairs IMO. I find 720 to be much more appropriate as it saves space, and provides probably 99% the quality. [:)]

gounaro -> RE: Logitech Pro Cam C 910 (Best Web Camera) quick vid test (Jan. 11 2011 14:16:54)

Here you have a point. There is no much difference and it saves a lot of space. When i record in 1080p the camera's software compresses the file and it takes a little longer. I think that in 720p is better and faster for guitar recording.

I am not trying to rob this thread, but today I purchased my first webcam and it is Microsoft LifeCam Cinema.

I'll try to post some of my playing and you all can check it out! I hope it this does the trick.

Good thread by the way!

Testing the Logitech C910 webcam. I have NOT edited this video in any way. The audio was recorded using the built-in microphone of the camera. The "Right Sound"and "Right Light" settings were turned OFF. The "autofocus" was turned off, except for at the end of the video after I finish playing guitar. The volume of the mic was set to only 2% volume (my sound card is crappy, and makes everything SUPER loud - if YOU were to get this cam, you might need to set the mic volume a bit louder) to stop any distortion of the basses from happening when playing aggressively. I listened, and there was NO clipping in the audio. Surely, it is NOT studio quality, but it is VERY VERY acceptable. Video was shot using Logitech Webcam Software at 720p and 24fps. The guitar strings and bindings/purflings might look a bit pixelated due to the focus I had, and the lighting (this can be fixed with some tweaking). File size that I uploaded was 217 MB. I hope YT does not ruin the audio / video quality too much ...

Make sure to watch the video on YouTube (rather than the embedded video on this thread) and switch it to 720p.

Nice one Ramzi! I might try to get one of those.

I couldn't hear a word you were saying but I liked seeing where you live [:)]

Consider checking this thread too. See the test video at the end.

Do you feel one test video shows better quality / frame rate than the other?

(this thread shows what I got when I tweaked my current cam, Pro 9000, with old drivers that are apparently BETTER than the new ones - audio recorded via my USB mic)

When I'm talking, you'll need to RAISE the volume ...

I said stuff like, "Here's the Mediterranean Sea, and here's a pigeon, and here's a plane, and here's the famous mosque, well, it's not really famous - and here are people swimming at the beach, and I'm stuck in here studying for my exam - and here's a guy on a scooter"

Andy Culpepper -> RE: Logitech Pro Cam C 910 (Best Web Camera) (Jul. 8 2011 20:23:14)

I think the video you posted on this thread is definitely better in both video and audio quality. Especially when you view it full screen

Damn! So you're saying the C910's built-in webcam microphone sounds better than my CAD u37 USB microphone (which costs $50 on its own, versus the webcam which costs $75)?

[:(]

rombsix -> RE: Logitech Pro Cam C 910 (Best Web Camera) (Jul. 9 2011 9:36:08)

http://www.4shared.com/video/6VmFlcLy/C910-at-1080-with-15fps.html

Here's a test video at 1080p at 15fps (this is the max frame rate supported by this cam and its software at 1080p). Audio recorded via the built-in webcam mic.

I focused on the guitar's label first to show that you can see very clearly stuff like text and other details. Then I did some fast right hand motions to show that 15fps suffers a bit with fast motions, but I think it's not bad all in all. Especially if one is making a tutorial slow-mo video, 1080p helps show the details of the fretboard etc.

Comments?
