I will likely regret that decision :-) but game for trying.

go for it. [;)] no regrets!

ok, so far we only have
deteresa1
villain
rogeliocan
cuerdasdulces
fevictor

where's the rest of you? [8|]

I had originally decided to stay out of this competition, so that the other noble guitarists on this foro might have even a fighting chance, but alas, the pull of a challenge is just too great. I am in!

yohan -> RE: intermediate challenge ideas (Nov. 17 2010 8:51:47)

I might want to join but I first would like to see what we are playing, then I will know if it's suitable for my level.
It isnt uploaded yet, is it? [8|]

mezzo -> RE: intermediate challenge ideas (Nov. 17 2010 9:01:05)

count me in too.
Any chance this one starts before the end of the year? [;)]

but do you guys have any suggestions?
i dont want to abuse his generosity and ask for another video.

why not including the morao beginner challenge stuff to this...might be interresting to see how intermediate player manage it.

hopefully there is a chance [8D]

I disagree , adding paco's de lucia tangos could be more interesting ( the one located on ravenna website as well )

ricecrackerphoto -> RE: intermediate challenge ideas (Nov. 17 2010 11:37:14)

count me in too!

and i'd also like something not too complicated so that i can really get it under my fingers. pepe and chichuelo's solea x bul was too much for me. i want to push and challenge myself but i also want the chance to get a piece to a level where i'm not still working on basic technical stuff.

doug

at_leo_87 -> RE: intermediate challenge ideas (Nov. 17 2010 11:40:34)

the paco de lucia tangos could be interesting.

don't worry, the challenge will definitely start soon.

jose hasn't posted the video up yet. i just emailed him. he's a busy guy. i dont want to pester him.

you mean this one.

no prob for me [:D] but imo the morao one is more tricky to make it groove.

at_leo_87 -> RE: intermediate challenge ideas (Nov. 17 2010 17:51:08)

hey guys, change of plans. hope you guys didnt get your heart set on tangos.

it is now an alegrias. it's a really nice falseta.

a fair warning for you beginner/intermediates, you better get your picados warmed up. [:D]

God ... I hate alegrias

just play it fast and it will be a bulerias de cadiz [:D]

aleksi -> RE: intermediate challenge ideas (Nov. 17 2010 18:03:10)

Oh shait, I hate picados! I might bite my fingers off to have a beliavable reason to withdraw from the battle.

rogeliocan -> RE: intermediate challenge ideas (Nov. 17 2010 18:04:14)

Super, where is it?[:)]

Setting the archive I was thinking that beginner challenges could target specific techniques instead of palos. Right now all the challenges are named after palos. If they focused on technique you could cover them all, which is good practice for beginners. Right now, out of 5 challenges there were 2 bulerias and 2 tangos. Of course the techniques are part of palos... anyway, just an idea.

... I don't know if tremolo and arpeggios have been included yet.

Elie -> RE: intermediate challenge ideas (Nov. 17 2010 18:05:08)

lol!! ok then agreed [:D][8D]

dont back down from the battle! believe in yourself and train hard like this guy. with spanish substitles to make it more flamenco.

how about we do a solea falseta every other month that focuses on one technique. and after a year, you will have a good collection of solea falsetas and stronger technique.

Do you also hate puppies, sunshine, and rainbows, Dark? [:D]

Elie -> RE: intermediate challenge ideas (Nov. 17 2010 18:15:36)

nice Idea !![:)]
we could use paco serrano-encuentro .. he did cover most of the techniques using solea
btw leo are u gonna post the falseta today or tomorrow ?

Would a series of short video clips of me practicing with this song in the background:

count as a submission for the challenge?

hahaha nooo I'm a optimistic nice guy.... so I luv them rofl !! [:D]
it's just I don't enjoy alegrias as I enjoy bulerias or tangos or any other palo [8D]

jose said he'll post it today.

adam, it only counts if you save a youth center from being taken down and reject the hot girl and go for the cute but dorky girl.

Adam -> RE: intermediate challenge ideas (Nov. 17 2010 18:28:15)

no, but if you do it without a shirt and with a sweatband then it might

Elie -> RE: intermediate challenge ideas (Nov. 17 2010 18:56:07)

aleksi you probably need to change your ip or proxy in order to view the clip

aleksi -> RE: intermediate challenge ideas (Nov. 17 2010 19:02:39)

hi ded,
how do I do that? It would be exelent to see the clip, but I have no idea how to do it.

Adam -> RE: intermediate challenge ideas (Nov. 17 2010 19:06:08)

The easiest way is to move to another country.

aleksi -> RE: intermediate challenge ideas (Nov. 17 2010 19:09:00)

yeah, thanks ramparts [:D]

Elie -> RE: intermediate challenge ideas (Nov. 17 2010 19:31:51)

lol
aleksi there are alot of softwares that change ip in a very easy way my fav is Hot Spot Shield and it is free
just launch the program and it will change ur ip mostly to the US when you're done turn it off because it will eventually make ur internet slower

and alternative way is by changing it from the browser for ex in Internet explorer:
press on Tools->Internet option->choose the connections tab->press lan settings->you should see "Proxy server" with two empty boxes (address) and (port) you fill the info -> and ur ip will be changed and dont forget to tick the option (use a proxy server for your lan(these settings will not apply to dial-up of VPN connections).
I will list some workin proxies for u ( just fill them in the empty boxes I mentioned up there address and port and press enter )
some might not work ( depends on the city you're located in )
the proxy I used recently is :
address:122.116.13.42 Port:8088
some others are :
address:122.116.13.42 Port:8088
address:81.13.209.127 Port:8090
address:68.68.96.110 Port:81
address:184.154.83.136 Port:81
address:72.73.25.190 Port:8118

sorry If wat i said was complicated

El Kiko -> RE: intermediate challenge ideas (Nov. 17 2010 20:08:47)
