Forgive my ignorance, but I keep hearing shouts of what sounds like "abaja". What is the correct spelling? What does it mean? Is it just another way to say "ole"?

Could be vamos a ya you are hearing? Might sound as "bahmo (ah) jah!"

haha, i used to think it was abaja too, which is arabic for dress or something like that. but most likely, what you're hearing is what ricardo said.
