another link if you're desperate as Amazon seems to not accept orders from certain countries (like mine)...this one is finnish though so it'll only be helpful to a few people out there...

Doitsujin -> RE: Diego del Morao's album approaches!!! (Nov. 18 2010 18:22:51)

I´ll try to find a shop where I can buy the CD with booklet. If nobody is faster than me, I´ll tell you. ;.)

And amazon.de with booklet! Still not available, but you can already order it. http://www.amazon.de/Orate-Diego-Del-Morao/dp/B004B2F9AE

But I just decided..I´ll buy the mp3 version. Im not willed to pay 20Euros more for a ****ing booklet.

XXX -> RE: Diego del Morao's album approaches!!! (Nov. 18 2010 18:42:51)

its a shame, but i dont think i will buy it coz i cant afford it.

aloysius -> RE: Diego del Morao's album approaches!!! (Nov. 19 2010 23:07:39)

I have on order from flamenco-world so I'll be able to scan booklet - ordered a week ago and it still hasn't shipped though, maybe they're waiting on the items, or maybe just flamenco-world being slack (wouldn't be the first time).

Paco plays in "El Regalo" but I couldn't really notice him, no crazy picado runs, nothing. I guess he we being nice to Diego [:D]

i can't believe how good is this solea por buleria.

OMG the last loop "riff" is just the most awesome theme i ever hear (as good as my fav of E. Morricone)...a representation of heaven imo.

May i ask for the key?

His new solea por buleria is too brilliant for words.

Great, fresh harmonic and rhythmic ideas.
As far as Groove and Tone, it doesnt get any better. Or at least i cant imagine anything better.

He stays on the lower end of the volume dynamic. Lots of finesse, and focus on sound. No bashing. I can just see Jason telling him he needs to play harder. [8D] haha

OLE!!

Yeah, but in the SPB, he doesnt. [:)]

I can see why you need a break from the boards once in a while.
Im the same way.

i stopped judging the sound of recorded albums since i discovered that a soft arpeggio can be almost as loud as heavy strumming (with string buzz and all that).

I make it - tuning similar to rondena but with additional b top e strings down a tone - i.e. open D chord. The key would be C# (phrygian) relative to capo
cheers,
Richard

Why, in this day and age, can I not purchase the tracks for download??? I don't want to order the physical disc from Spain or Europe. I have far too much music to store the discs that I do have, I don't want more. I should be able to download it! Amazon.uk has it, but it doesn't let me download them because I live in the US. I have been looking for this on Amazon (in the US) and on iTunes, but to no avail. C'mon folks, this is the 21st Century! Am I missing something here?

If you like that, have a listen to Montse Cortes' solea 'Lloran Al Lao Mio' from her album 'La Rosa Blanca'. At the end he plays the same loop with her singing over it. His playing and her singing are great on that album.

Doitsujin -> RE: Diego del Morao's album approaches!!! (Nov. 24 2010 21:51:58)

I cant belive that Diego really played "El aire que me llega"...Seems way too difficult for his technique... [&:] There are some phrasings and picados...man man man.. I would like to know how much energy they put into editing that.. [:D]... Or Diego is just better than I assess him..

it's DADF#AD...i might try and tab the thing, the first few compáses i have but then it gets noisy and it'll be difficult...

He is, Doit. I've seen it. His blessed big hands deceive us just as his father's talons do the same. He is really this good and dynamic. PdL himself described him as one of the best guitarists in history, so...

He is beautiful.

^^ yeah, I believe. I don´t think that the pros cheat. I saw Diego 2 times. One time flamenco with cigala and the second time this south american stuff together with piano and diego. Awesome player.

just had a listen and both tracks are so similar (playing) and so beautiful [:)]
the loop with her singing is fantastic actually
man Montse has an incredible voice

Rain -> RE: Diego del Morao's album approaches!!! (Nov. 26 2010 7:23:10)

Excellent that you figured out the tuning xirdneH_imiJ, how did you go about doing it?
And its an odd tuning for a Solea is it not? Has anybody here know of any other Solea's that are tuned in such a manner?

xirdneH_imiJ -> RE: Diego del Morao's album approaches!!! (Nov. 26 2010 9:14:56)

there was a discussion about this a few months ago, at first i thought it was a rondena tuning but there's a youtube video that proves the tuning...

there aren't many oddly tuned soleás out there, the only one i can think of right now is Gerardo's Soleá de la Luna Coja...

there's also a topic on flamenco-teacher.com where somebody asked about different tunings in flamenco so i tried to gather everything i know of - http://www.flamenco-teacher.com/forum;jsessionid=7DC90E40B3F5A34241C7E596F0844350?do=show&disp=64623

Don't forget Templo del Lucero from the same album, with all the basses tuned down a half step.

Rain -> RE: Diego del Morao's album approaches!!! (Nov. 26 2010 12:09:58)

Tanks for the information.

+1!!!

I'm in Canada and haven't been able to find it for download yet

chrisva -> RE: Diego del Morao's album approaches!!! (Nov. 26 2010 17:34:03)

I'm in Canada as well and have scoured the web many times looking for it.

Tried purchasing from other foreign sites (after using Google's translation tool to determine what each item on the page means) and am told I can't purchase from this region.

Why is this not available anywhere in North America?

I even considered purchasing it in CD format from Amazon.com or Amazon.ca and they are both sold out.

What gives?

veet -> RE: Diego del Morao's album approaches!!! (Dec. 5 2010 20:13:41)

The best North American mail-order store I've found is flamencoconnection.com. Shipping is 5 or 6 bucks, whereas ordering from Spain shipping costs as much as the CD. Check it out.
