Mitch -> A belated introduction... (Mar. 16 2010 20:52:53)

Where are my manners? [&:]

I've been a member here for a good while, but my renewed interest in flamenco has made me start actually posting. I figure it's a good idea to at least introduce myself before hounding you with beginner questions...

I'm, uh, Mitch. I'll be 40 soon, and I have a wife and three young daughters here in Arizona. I've played classical guitar for about thirteen years now, though I'm not great at it. I flirted with flamenco for about a year once, but eventually found my way back to classical again.

This time I mean it though! I'm looking forward to spending some real time trying to make some actual flamenco progress.

I know a bit about the history of flamenco and I have listened and watched for a long time. Flamenco really speaks to me - the cante goes right into my soul and hurts me sometimes, even if I don't understand the words. It's really very moving, passionate stuff as you all well know. It's magical to me.

I have a lot to learn but I will try not to bother all of you with too many questions. No promises though.

In any case, hello to all of you.

Nice place you've got here.

-mitch

Welcome Mitch!
Good to have you on board.
The Foro has really helped me in a lot of ways.
So if you need anything just ask![;)]

Hey Mitch,

There's quite a few of us 'new guys' kicking about, pestering the old timers with our typical 'new guy' questions.[:D]

You're in good company man. There's some great players, teachers, luthiers and contributors from all over the world kicking about on this forum.

Enjoy!
