Hey flamenco lovers!

Today, I decided i needed a flamenco guitare, since my classic is starting to show its limits with me.

So i went in a street in paris where i could try some guitars in multiple shops.
Here are the ones I tried based on my budget (1000-1200 euros)

-First one i tried is the 2f-05 from the sanchis brothers
http://www.lafalseta.com/SanchisLopez_flamencos.html

-Second one is Tomatito Series Guitars. Model--La Canada Blanca from Vicente Carrillo
http://www.staffordguitar.com/shop/popuptomatitolacanadablanca.asp

-third one is the model 2f from Amalio Burguet. It was a used one, and the Re string was buzing a bit too much to my ears, but after 30 minutes, i started to get used to the buzzing.
http://www.burguet.com/modelos.php?familia=2&titulo=Flamenco&seccion=modelos&Idioma=en&modelo=12

-Fourth one is a Modèle : FG2 from GIAMBATTISTA
No links for this one, but it was ok. used one aswell, original price 1600, it's at 1200 in that shop.

So i read around the forum that i had to choose for myself after playing them, but i just can't make up my mind... I liked the Tomatito model, but the two last ones were already "made", so the sound was different (since they were used already).
And the sanchis one was okay too. It's really hard to choose like this. I think the sanchis one was the one with most "colour"...

So if anyone can tell me their preference for the brand/luthier and their experiences...

Thank you!

Hey Ashod,

I know that street. Quite a lot of choice for everything.

I've probably read all the same threads as you and one thing I noticed is that many players seem to change guitar quite regularly. Maybe this is to keep the motivation going or because finances allow it or it's just plain GAS.

So having said that, choose any of them because you'll want something else next year anyway. Second hand guitars wont depreciate too much so they're generally a safe bet.

Have fun.

It wasnt lafalseta but i know which shop you mean. It was a german shop, but cant remember their name. What i remember is, that the guy who posted his bad experience here, got out of the whole thing with a big bonus by that shop and probably is very happy about it...

I don't think so Doit...

And you're gonna get a heap of flack! [:D]

Tom Nuñez will not be pleased.....

Ron

Ron i think the shop had the words "la falseta" in its name.
Probably it was lafalseta.de
They also have/had an ebay account called "meistergitarren" or something.

It was an incredible story, lets see if the search engine is going to do me a favor at least this time...

aleksi -> RE: Yet another thread : Which one to choose? (Jan. 22 2010 12:13:56)

lasonanta.eu maybe?

sean65 -> RE: Yet another thread : Which one to choose? (Jan. 22 2010 12:20:26)

I think Ashod's just using the links as examples of the guitars he's seen in Paris.

I got the impression he intends buying in Paris.

Incoming from Tom [:D]

It was NOT lafalseta.com and please don't mention whoever it was here again, thanks [;)]

bursche -> RE: Yet another thread : Which one to choose? (Jan. 22 2010 12:44:02)

I could offer my Sanchis 1F, it is in excellent condition.

Concerning their prices I was always pleased with my Sanchis guitars, unfortunately their guitars are a lot more expensive now than a few years before.

However, you can get very good sounding 2F05 models, but the quality varies - try them if you want to get a new instrument.

See the Luthiery section

Doitsujin -> RE: Yet another thread : Which one to choose? (Jan. 22 2010 13:49:59)

So it was not lafalseta.com...my apopogyze.. But that was no joke, I didnt remember... The internet makes one paranoid.
Maybe we could look for the thread I mentioned.

Maybe I confused it wit this post:

http://www.foroflamenco.com/tm.asp?m=85576&appid=&p=&mpage=1&key=lafalseta&tmode=&smode=&s=#85576

There was a fake guitar on ebay. Tanunez noticed that and warned us. In his post and signature was lafalseta.com which has of course nothing to do with the ebay thing.
So.. my mind played tricks on me and mixed that up.
And there was this other thread about the customer who was faked with this broken guitar. I´ll find it tomorrow.

EDIT: Tanunez...I wanna say that again. Its really important. I dont want to talk bad about your shop. It must be a very good shop coz also escribando pushed me back on the right track. Im very sorry for my bad memory. I think it was good we clarified that your shop is a good one. Tanunez..seriously 1000 times sorry for that from me. Wont happen again.

Where is Tom???

Ricardo -> RE: Yet another thread : Which one to choose? (Jan. 22 2010 22:23:43)

I remember some of us warned against website dealer X, and I linked a picture of a guitar with electronics to someone asking about it. I linked cuz of the nice picture, but warned of dealer X and recommended Lafalseta instead, as someone who could get the same exact instrument with much better service.

Dealer X traced the link and contacted both ME directly and this forum. He was not so friendly and quite upset we were using his picture link at the same time saying he does bad business. So we appologized, publicly and privately, and asked him to come clean on the forum, use the opportunity to make things right and we would all change our attitudes about his business.

Instead he got some BS professional guitarists to login in ananomously and say nobody on here was flamenco....got more pissed off, offended everybody, and finally threatened the foro with LEGAL action. At which point, if I remember, ADMIN simply deleted all the threads, etc, and that was that.

So you won't find it archived if my memory is correct.

Ricardo

ps....BAD DOIT!!![:D]

ashod -> RE: Yet another thread : Which one to choose? (Jan. 22 2010 23:52:14)

Hey sean65! It's "rue de rome" if you've been there. Many nice shops there!

As sean said, I don't intend on buying on internet of course. I put the sites just to show what were my options. Sorry for your trouble Tanunez!

HemeolaMan, this morning, i was thinking about the Tomatito one. But that's maybe because of the big poster of tomatito and the guitare in the shop, or the fact that some other customers praised me and wanted to buy the guitare after me trying it...

As for changing a guitare every year, I know i'm not like that because I like to stick to one instrument (have 2 guitars, each one lasted 6 years), plus I'm still a student, so money is a problem...

bursche, would you elaborate, or maybe pm me?
