This is the only internet forum I've ever taken part in, so y'all are the only people I know who I don't actually know. I hope everyone has a good, safe holiday season and a good start to the new year.

Thank you Tom for the compliment, it is indeed a suit of clothes, but i too, Edguerin, was surprised Tom could tell it from a blazer based on the limited image. May be Tom appreciates fashion to such degree as to know that one would hardly wear a plain charcoal grey blazer, a color much more appropriate for a suit.

HenryM, good question on Flamenco gifts. My wife tender attempt to warm up to my Flamenco passion has delivered a Rodrigo & Gabriella's CD. I think she is tired of my technical opinion (also drawn from these pages) as to what is and isn't Flamenco, Spanish Guitar, and Flamenco Fusion (!?). I am after all grateful she is trying... My kids have gotten me a very colorful Cejilla to match my Conde and a Metronome... (a gift of metronome equals that of a deodorant, and while the latter begs the question on whetehr the receipient's personal scent requires adjustments, the former whether it is obvious to everyone else the receipient has "tempo" issues !!!!)

Merry Christmas.

edguerin,

That is no blazer as gj mentioned. I would be offended if I was that suit and you called me a blazor

Nothing fits better than a well taylored suit.

First time in more than 30 years Canada is seeing a white Christmas from Pacific to Atlantic, North to South!

Hope everyone has a wonderful New Year!

gj,

I appreciate good suits. However, there are only certain suit jackets you can wear as blazers. As you mentioned, plain charcoal grey would not be best. Perhaps with a Navy you could pull this off. I just think in general, the cut and the button type of a suit coat make it difficult to pull it off as a sportcoat/blazer. I call these "Orphaned Suit Jackets". The fabric will also tell you if a certain suit coat will work for a blazer as well.

Guitars and Suits. That's what I love. It's awesome when the Gitano's break out their best suits while performing. These guys really have style.

True that, I was at a party in me suit that my old dad gave me, must be 30 years old, and I had it retailored for me a while back. I had a recent divorcee all over me, my wife was getting all steamed up and even I felt uncomfortable and had to go hide.

One guy loved it though and throughout the evening was offering to buy my suit and the final offer was over $2000!

Merry Christmas and may hopefully you found a new suit under the tree!

Don't ever underestimate the power of a well taylored suit. Regardless of it's age, a good suit is a good suit.

My friend's grandfather once told him, "Look son, if you're ever going to say anything radical.....always say it in a suit."

cheers,
