Hi friends! Just wondering...what are all the events going on in and around Spain during July and August. I know of Gerardo's class but that's about it. I'm finally going to the holy land!
It's always hard to say in advance what will be happening until the festivals release their dates. For instance the Granada festival of Music and dance is in June/July but have no idea exactly when. Its a lively time with lots of flamenco happening but by August Granada tends to be quiet.
June in Jerez de la Frontera there's the Fiesta de la Bulería. Usually in August if I remember right is La Union: Festival cante de las minas. Not sure of the date of the Caracola in Lebrija, ditto for Morón de la Frontera and the Gazpacho andaluz or the Potaje gitano in Utrera but try googling for these festivals. Malaga also has a summer festival I think and of course the feria there is in August.
Sara - August is dead in the cities and very, very hot (It reached 113F in my house one summer and I was going to bed in a t-shirt, run under the cold tap).
Air-con is not as widespread as in CA.
It's fiesta time June-July and you often won't be in bed until 5:00am . City folk take August off at the beach, so the coast is very busy.
