Tremolo

I love this sound and style of Flamenco, but the book I'm using to teach myself doesn't have any lessons on it, which is fine. But I'm looking to teach this to myself. Any recommendations?

Thank you.

It's a technique, not a style.

Yes: Buy Gerardo nunez's encuentro. 70€ and all your questions about guitar technique will be answered :-).

How little do you know??

four stroke flamenco tremolo goes like this....

All the zeros are played I A M I and the basses are played with your thumb on the beat.

(EDIT) for some reason i cant get the fingering to stay where i wrote it, it puts it all on the right when i post it!!!

say if that doesn't make sense!!

This video shows how you do it but he uses Pmami, instead of Piami.

Try pasting it in code tags. It should display like a quote, but without changing the text formatting or actually using any code inside the tags, if it doesn't truncate the box.

edit: doesn't work perfect either... There are html tags for code and preformated text, but I don't know what the PHPBB code is for preformatted text...

RE: Tremolo (in reply to SilverShark

I'm having a little trouble getting this down but more or less I can see the progress. My only question (as of now) is this: I am ok with tremolo on the high E string, but when I try to do this on the B string I have a hard time not hitting the higher string. Maybe I'm just not accurate enough yet..?

I had the same problem.
It's gone now and it will never come back.
It's difficult to explain this by words but I'll give it a try.

Try to experiment with the height of your righthand wrist. raise your wrist till the 6th string and try to act like you were doing reststrokes or like you want to try to pull up the b-string . More like brushing the strings then picking them.

And of course look in a mirror to be sure if your ami fingers are in an exact straight line with the strings.

Straight line? As in parallel to the strings? Not perpendicular or diagonal to??
