Aaron Gilmartin DVDs

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if the following is available in PAL format (Region 2) from anywhere in the UK.

Aaron Gilmartin Easy Steps To Flamenco Guitar DVD

Thanks,
Eddie

Our local public library has it so I borrowed it for free, it is VERY basic. His
original DVD was better. Not sure I would spend the money on it honestly.
There are better DVD's available.

Jeff

The regional code issue--Pal versus NTSC, etc.--shouldn't be that much of a problem. I've played both types of format on my computer. It should work the same for anyone else who tries it. Regional codes are only for stand-alone DVD players--the kind you connect to a TV. Computers are exempt from regional codes.

If you want to convert from NTSC to Pal or Pal to NTSC a computer can do that, too, but you need additional software.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I know they can be converted but tends to drop the quality a little and I also know that I can watch it on my computer, which I may well end up doing.

So, n85ae, I am beginner to flamenco though am a very experienced classical guitar player. Which DVDs would you recommend then please as I am sure I will benefit from someone who is experienced in the genre of flamenco.

Thanks again,
Eddie

This comes up often. You can look here: http://www.foroflamenco.com/tm.asp?m=88724&appid=&p=&mpage=1&key=graf&tmode=&smode=&s=#88726

IMO the best starting point for Flamenco in DVD form is Graf-Martinez I and II and the Oscar Herrero series Paso a Paso Volumes I through III. There are many others. You might eventually want to use the Encuentro series.

Thanks Pgh_flamenc,

I really appreciate you pointing me in the right direction. I'm sure it will save me a lot of time and probably money in the long run.
