RE: Battery Power Guitar Amp??? (in reply to DavidT)
I use a Fender Ampcan with its' own built in rechargeable battery. Works fine for me with either a microphone or a contact microphone. No distortion at all. I would try a Pignose before buying one aren't they intended more for Rock Gods playing strats? A friend of mine also gets great results from a Crate 'Taxi.' Again it has a built in rechargable battery. Some of my Folky chums swear by Roland Micro Cubes, and play allsorts of instruments through them, including fiddles, banjos and steel strung guitars.

Most of the guys who play for a living around here use the Crate Limo. It takes about 20 min to recharge, is versatile, sounds OK, and is fairly light and tough.
