Ok....its a bit of a star wars pun. Its really a message for Luke. I know you have been working on the Tangos and was looking for the tab. Is this what you were wanting? I am trying to tab the whole thing but its really long. Let me know how you find it.
This is the first part of the Tangos from Sanlucar this year which feels more like Zapateado with its triplet feel. It comes from the album "flamencos in Nuevo York"
Admin- I wanted to put this in the Tab section but i cant. Is it possible to allow jpgs to be posted in the tab section. Otherwise could a nice forum member make a pdf and post it there and I'll move this post
RE: Use the course Luke..... (in reply to Pimientito)
Hey Pimiento, Big thanks for posting this, how much grovelling sycophancy does it take for you to post some more/the rest?!!
A guitarist I knew worked out most of this Tangos from the cd, then went out to Sanlucar one year, played it to Gerardo, and asked him for the bits he couldn't get.... this was a few years ago now, and at the time I wasn't up to the level where I could really attempt it.
I would really like to have a go at it, but don't live anywhere near that guy now, and will find it a challenge even with the tab.
I think there's a tiny bit of it I know already though, that Gerardo has taught as a solea falseta.

a power of attourney should do the trick
I'm on the case but its got some tough parts. Give me a week or so to transcribe it.
Henry- thanks, that would help a lot. I've been bouncing stuff back and forth to Ramparts who has been a big help but i would rather just convert it myself.

i tried to post the tiny weeny bit of this i know as a 1 compas repeat solea falseta (comes into La Fuente... at 2:06-2:17) but only have a free trial gp and it didn't attach... anyone tell me how to post it?
RE: Use the course Luke..... (in reply to mark indigo)
Mark indigo - that falseta is solea but has to be adjusted to fit Tangos. You stamp your foot on beat 1 then start playing the falseta. I'll tab it this week. You can simply scan your version and post the jpg here for time being.
RE: Use the course Luke..... (in reply to Pimientito)
haha!! mark u legend thats awesome m8. have you tabbed ne of the solea por bul cos ive got the first falseta down i cud tab that and scan it in...? im basically wishin i had saved up to get sum kind of recordin equipment for the course so i cud also do the honours of goin thru and tabbin up. i loved so much of the stuff we were doin. want. my tape recorder was so naf last year tho. btw i dnt spose uve found the website of tht guy who did the photoshoot of us lot on the auditorium steps. those pics would make a nice 2009 hot guitarist calendar, im sure he would have had us taking off our clothes if we stayed ne longer... p.s i was named after luke skywalker. at least i like to think so.

Ahh...my young apprentice
I forgot about that mad photo thing. Yeah I'll send you the website. Did you notice how we used you as bait while we made a fast exit? I dont think the world was ready for nude Ricardo/Pimientito flamenco calendar shots
There was so much material....what do you want first? I'm going to keep on with this Tangos for time being. Do you even have a recording of it? The Solea x buleria was beautiful but I havent even started looking at it yet. Can you scan and send me your tab so far. That would help a lot.
RE: Use the course Luke..... (in reply to Pimientito)
Ok...its been wet and raining in Granada so here is some more Tangos. This starts on page 4 which is the arpeggio sequence roughly halfway through and goes more or less to the end of the composition. Luke- print these off and play along to the dictaphone..you'll get it. Anyone else wanting a go can listen to the CD. Any friendly members want to put it in tabs section? xxx
RE: Use the course Luke..... (in reply to Pimientito)
This next page starts with the phrase ending the arpeggios. Its quite archaic and I havent written it in compas because the timing is too complex. There is a strange technique where you half barre the 10th fret with your little finger and then slide it to the 12th fret. Learn it slowly bit by bit. Then piece it together and then try to make it fit to the recording. It is very fast so don’t feel bad about simplfying it. The next passage I have sketched the chords but you can figure out the compas yourselves. Lastly is the “solea” falseta. It’s basically written for solea but has been adjusted to fit Tangos. The trick is to start with a golpe or foot stamp on the first beat …and then come in with the falseta. Again, learn it slowly and literally sing it along to the recording to get the compas. I think it’s written correctly but it’s easier to learn to fit the beat by listening to the recording.
RE: Use the course Luke..... (in reply to Pimientito)
So now to the amazing arpeggio sequence which is a great study in itself. Just a quick note to any newcomers or picky tab readers…flamenco isnt classical music and there isnt always a definitive correct way to play a falseta. Gerardo plays this one slightly differently each time and he has varied it slightly over the years since the original recording. Therefore there are some written variations here from the CD. 1. It can be played in 2 positions and he often switches position in the same falseta. For this reason I have written both positions down. It can all be played in one position or the other or both mixed together as in this version. 2. The right hand is sometimes doing a bass followed by simple forward or reverse arpeggio, sometimes a ligado in bass followed by reverse arpeggio and sometimes a simple bass and triad. It can be mixed and matched. When you combine the left and right hand variations together it sounds different each time and this is basically what Gerardo does.
It’s quite tough on the left hand at first so take a rest every few minute or you will get cramp. This should keep most of you busy for a while and give me time to tackle with the new solea por buleria.
