New PITINGO CD & DVD to be released ...

Just spotted it on FW:

Its called "Souleria" and due to be released 6th May.

Can't read the Spanish to understand what is featured though. Anyone know? Just by the title, I'm guessing its gonna be... contemporary?

The nutshell:

It starts out by saying that stuff like "Killing me softly" in principle has nothing to do with flamenco, but when Pitingo gets involved, anything can turn into flamenco. (You've been warned!

).

It says that there will be some pop classics in arrangements that are somewhere between flamenco, soul, and pop, but that there will also be lots of traditional cante (pieces by and with old masters).

And it'll come with a DVD of his 'Soulería' show which was a box-office smash hit in theatres in Madrid last year.

pitingo's a talented guy, it should be good whatever he sings.
killing me softly is a song that has duende, im not personally keen on the fugees version of it.

i def would'nt be expecting ultra trad cante nowdays.
