Solea with left hand thumb 

I have never seen chord played that way.. I know that interpretation of flamenco(or gypsy) guitar is flexible, but this - just lol:)
Have that technique spanish name or something?

yeah thats crazy!

I liked his playing though!

I suspect its a personal choice, hes no spring chicken and maybe his fingers won't strecth that far?!?

looks like he shoul dbe barring that fret where his thumb is and playing a g shape, but im not sure really

I've seen people use their thumb to bar some of the high strings before. It's usually done above the twelfth fret because the thumb cannot go behind the neck and must hang over the fret board anyway.
