Hi, I am trying to learn this piece and I have the original book (fantasia flamenca) The problem is that it does not have any indication where the capo (if any) should be placed.
When I listened to the original on the cd it sounds too high in pitch like capo on 1st or even 2nd fret but then it has some high positions that would be really difficult with a capo on!
Does anyone knows the position pls?
Ps. I also find it a bit strange that there is no video of Paco playing this piece considering its popularity
Theres a black and white tv sequense where Paco play it as a duet with Ricardo modrego, i think paco is 16 or something, its NOT Guajiras de lucia but he play some of the falsetas from it. He plays that arpeggio sequens for example.

I agree with you guys, I dont think there is a capo because it has high pieces like on the 14 th fret!!.. and yes xirdneH_imiJ your right. Grisha plays it without capo as well! I still dont know how it sounds so high pitched on the cd! maybe it is because it was recorded a long time ago and it was nt in real pitch or something like that!
i dont have it on my computer. I only got it on a video tape. But i´ll have a look around.
OK i had a look , i got this sequense on my computer in a moveie called " "Flamenco guitar" But i need some sort of movie editing program to copy that song only. Any advice?

Paco plays this capo 1. You can still make the stretch, but it is hard. Barre all the way across the neck, it makes it easier. The CD Fantasia I am convinced is speed up just a hair so the pitch sounds between capo 1 and capo 2. If you have software, you can slow down the mp3 so the pitch is in tune, capo 1, that is the real speed he is playing I believe. The entire album is sped up that much, not just this song.
I have a copy of this also. I can only barely play a couple of falsetas. There are some weird fingerings in some places - think about some alternatives to make it easier. There are some falsetas that sound really nice slowed down a bit - to my ear Paco plays this too quickly - even without the artificial speeding-up of the recording.
10x a lot duende for that video man! sry for the delay but I saw it just now, it s great as usual Paco amazes everyone. Thanks for sharing. Hope we can play like this someday :)
