RE: foro member flamenco fake book!!!!! (in reply to Florian

hey, whatever works for you man lol.

no volumes? man, there's this thing i have... its like, a life lol. if i dont do it in volumes youwont see it for like 2 years. frankly im eager to get some of this stuff published lol.

smaller chunks means i have more opportunities for input and revisions. that and resources become available sooner for people. =)

all topics will be covered, however, i dont think i'm the best for the technique or falseta chapters. if someone does the brains for that i will be glad to help publish! lol

go read this weeks thread, alegrias in e

RE: foro member flamenco fake book!!!!! (in reply to Ricardo

I was thinking something more, WIde, not just cante, but everything to do with flamenco guitar , that can be learned from a book.

It is assumed that the reader has some knolodge of compas, this is not a beginner book, just a reference guide (but if shared trough the interned, perhaps, we could all even provide audios recorded by us to go along with it and accompany the book, would be fun)

Pdf and Audios

Scales, silencios, all chord variation, cierre, typical escobilla and variations, alazpua, strumming anything else to do with this palo that may be usefull to know.

Is nothing more than the kind of usefull help and info you allready share here now Ricardo , only difference is that someone is commited writting it down and arranging it in a way that we can eazely find it when we need it.

I still use the Flamenco chords Dictionary alot, it is usefull and a good idea

havent seen this dvd thow

RE: foro member flamenco fake book!!!!! (in reply to HemeolaMan

a palo/basic cante accomp. fake book would be excellent. not for replacing accompaniment with a real singer, but to support it, to get things going. i would like there to be letras in notation and words, as the skeleton, and guitar parts as chord analysis above it. i'm sure we can find some archetypical letras for each palo. the letras + chords part would then be the base for other things. for instance basic strumming patterns. i like the way herrero does it in his solea accompaniment video/book. he gives a few full measures of strumming, which then can be intermixed according to how the compas is divided. that gives a whole lot of different rhythms going (for instance building a 12 from pattern A 1-3, C 4-6, B 7-9, E 10-12)

the "all flamenco chords" chart would be a great appendix

RE: foro member flamenco fake book!!!!! (in reply to Ricardo

yeah, and pdl has already written everything worth listening to, and there's nothing new under the sun! lol

thanks for pointing that out ricardo. but, i'm thinking that since flo hasnt seen it, and he's been on the scene for long enough to have had the opportunity, anybody who is new isnt going to run into it by chance either.

this foro however, snags new members who google flamenco all the time.

just a thought

499 posts. someone give me something to post on. fellowship is only one post away lol

I just added a very basic Farruca to the tabs section. It's another pdf file, hopefully those work for most people but I can post the GP5 file if anyone wants. This is a really basic version though, you don't want to stray from the steady beat here for dancers.

Already done, look in the tabs section. I was going with pdf because I wasn't sure how many people had GP5, and you can only upload one file per post, but I agree, programs like GP5 are a big help.

H-man,

This sounds like a really good idea for newer people like me. I have some really nicely designed cord progression charts from a Japanese flamenco book and will scan them for you next week. If it's only for our use, do we need to worry about copyright?

I agree that they can't be used like a formulaic "paint the numbers" diagram, but it could help us begin to develop a better understanding and ear for the more common patterns we might encounter.

Here is part 2 of the Diego falseta for all who want it
Its the pata negra version. You should be able to work out the original easily from it.

quote:

ORIGINAL: Ricardo

Taranto for baile being perhaps the most complex chart.

Really is that so? Also if there is no singer?
I thought Taranto (the easy version!) is mostly G7 and F# in kind of Rumba rythm.
I mean just the basic skelett of Taranto. Maybe Hemelora is looking for something like that. Flamenco gets complicated very fast,,, escobilla, rematarbla, ... it should be easier.
