They should be called retarded capos instead of cejillas flamenca... Ok, some of the old ones look nice, but they limit the player in movements. And the one with the nipple on top just like it was carved out of an IKEA chair leg. Sorry.. but dunlop capos are unbeatable IMO.

Doit,

Nah Dominic,
Doit doesn't hate himself...he just likes grumbling.
Nothing wrong with that IMO.
I enjoy a good grumble myself, not because I'm old... but because being old means you've acquired more material to grumble about...

cheers,

Ron

lol Doit, these capos are pieces of art and not computer harddiscs where you only compare the size and speed etc.

But i understand Doit,,,, i mean i am living in his country since more than 20 years now

Dunlops are good too though (and cheap)

Hey Tom, mine are "Unique Cejillas", not Isabella or any other piece of **** out there. I stopped making them cuz I don't have time; next thing I know, they copied mine even down to the inlay. BEWARE, I am not selling any cejillas right now, they're giving my cejillas a bad rap because I know they're nothing like mine except in appearance. Gonna call Brad shortly and send him to hell. And all for a couple bucks, what a bitch. Haha

RE: Cejilla Flamenca (in reply to ykabban

ykabban. That's too bad and it angers me but what can you do? if you think about it, everyone copies everyone. Guitar makers copy other guitar makers but the original guitar maker is still the original. Traditional cejillas are copied all the time but the original guy who came up with this design is still the original guy. Paco's music is copied and immitated but the original, is still Paco.

'Unique Cejillas' are now being copied but the creator, ykabban, is still ykabban. Know what I mean? Well...gotta run, I'm copying a Santos

You're absolutely right Tom. I was angry, but I was also being a bit fecicious with my comments. No matter, I got bigger fish to fry. And yeah, I'm still ykabban, hahaha.

Brad and I exchanged e-mails and he has removed the cejillas from his site, despite my nasty comments. More than anything, I felt like an idiot when I saw those "Isabella" cejillas. And my mom's name is Isabella, so I was like wtf hahaha.

I know of others that are duplicating and selling my cejillas. But when I saw those on Strings By Mail, I was genuinely hurt, because I thought we had an understanding.

Jbash, I have taken steps to protect my design when I first conceived it, but at this point I'm kinda over it if you know what I mean.

RE: Cejilla Flamenca (in reply to Guest

Just received my cejilla from Tony Arnold this morning..(the carved one).
It's absolutely delightful...it looks authentic antique and fits smoothly and securely.
Sure the Dunlop is great, but the chrome part sort of bugs me visually, making it look like some sort of surgical instrument or appliance.

You spend a lot of time looking at the fretboard while you are playing and Tony's is quite inspirational, looking very Andalusian/Moorish.

Thanks Tony!

cheers,

Ron
