warning girlie topic - new skirt
OK so this is a girlie topic but not off topic.
In between Christmas and New Year I'm going on a dance course to learn a Solea with bata de cola. Of course everyone has to have their own bata, and have you seen the price of batas in the shops this year?!!!
So of course I had to make my own. It's been a hell of a job, but it's done, and here it is.

.... and in case you don't think I really made it myself, here I am cutting out one of the MANY circles which make up the frills. Now all I have to do it learn how to flick the skirt round with my foot while I'm dancing!!

Great skirt and believe me I know how much work must have gone into this. Looking forward to seeing the video. I have a nice tight skirt which I struggled to get into a couple of weeks ago, but I draw the line at trying to dance in a bata. Val

Hey, Ailsa
It's beautiful! I admire and envy your skill with a needle - I completely failed 7th grade sewing and have to rely on those with better spatial relation abilities than I! Here in Tokyo, ordinary practice skirts usually go for $150-250 and dresses for $600 on up! Bata de colas? Forget about it! They're outrageously expensive! I found a new skirt on sale here for $100 and that will force me to go back to class in 2008. Happy dancing!

So much talent we have here. Very nice choice of pattern and colors. I agree with kate, would be great to see it in action. As far as the wall decoration, it looks more like paint with stencil - not so much girlie as earthy. I like your color choices.
